DEM VOW ALREADY BROKEN: HOUSE SETS 4-DAY WORK WEEK

Democrats ran to expand the work week in the House to 5 days. But guess how long that lasted? Not even one week!
"Culture Shock on Capitol Hill: House to Work 5 Days a Week" front-paged the WASHINGTON POST in December.
Majority leader Steny Hoyer said members of the House will be expected in the Capitol for votes each week by 6:30 p.m. Monday and will finish their business about 2 p.m. Friday.

Explained the POST: "Forget the minimum wage. Or outsourcing jobs overseas. The labor issue most on the minds of members of Congress yesterday was their own: They will have to work five days a week starting in January."But on the morning after the night before, on the first full week of the new congress, Hoyer has pulled back from his vow!
A Hoyer press release obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT boldly declares: "Monday, January 8, 2007:
The House is not in session."Hill sources claim The House is taking Monday 'off' this week, because of the championship football game between Ohio State and the University of Florida.

And, of course, the following Monday is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.100 hours...starting...soon

The Dem's are ALMOST breaking promises AS they make them...maybe that will be next.
Lets see if a liberal can comment here WITHOUT saying anything about the Right...this is your party in charge now...defend them with merit, not by talking about someone else.

Yes, and the Democrats have ditched the 3/5fhs rule for passing tax increases. Yup, the taxers and spenders are in charge.

This is one of the lamest items yet! With all the things to complain about the Democratic majority, announcing two specific non-session days is what you choose to rant about, claiming the Dems have "broken their vow"? Drudge must be having a slow news week.

Really lame.

Gee, I wonder if my boss will shut down the business today for the Gator, Buckeye game?

Jim, did you ever stop and think this may be a way to keep pressure on the Dems in an attempt to keep them from inventing an excuse for breaking their promise every week? I didn't think so.

The Game said...

It shows what the Dem's are, liars.
Jim doesn't care, because liberals dont care about things like that...adultry, lying under oath, stealing money and putting it in your freezer...
See, when republicans do that, they have to resign because conservatives have higher standards for the human race...
We will see how many other promises they break this week

Game...

You left out vehicular homicide and Klan membership.

When liberals are held to standards by anyone I'll have to call 911 for heart attack rescue.

Get out the KY baby, here they come.

The Game said...

was that vehicular homicide or just a drowning...and yes, KKK...forgot..
Maybe I should have a post listing all the things Dem's do...and still get voted into office...

and statitory rape...forgot about that one too

Statutory rape? Who?

Let's see, um, warrantless wiretapping, now warrant mail opening, doing away with habeas corpus, legalizing torture, lying to the American people. This administration has a fabulous record not even including their utterly failed foreign policy.

The Game said...

and republicans voted a bunch out...we are listing all the Dem's who get caught and STILL get voted in...

Yet they re-elected George W. Bush.

Let's see, um,

"But Seward, a long time abolitionist, was viewed as a forceful advocate of Lincoln's policies, including the suppression of dissent, the suspension of the writ of habeus corpus, and the imprisonment without trial of several thousand citizens for disloyalty."

from "Manhunt-The 12-Day Chase For Lincoln's Killer" by James L. Swanson

And if I'm not mistaken, a lot of those people were Americans. Bush, on the other hand, is using surveilance techniques to thwart foreign jerkwads with murder on their to-do list. Hmm, who messed with our rights more? Was it George or Abe? Hmmm. Damn those wartime presidents, trying to do what they believe is right!

Regarding torture, what you need to recognize and remember, is that thanks to lib wussie obstructionists, Bush was forced to spell out legal limitations of our interrogation techniques, rather than to just let the Islamoscumbags believe we're capable of anything. And by golly that was a wonderful thing for the lib wussies to do---for the scumbags.

And of which lies to the American people are you now referring?

I have posted here several times cases in which the only conclusion is that Bush lied or he is a moron. Take your pick.

Game, can one do a search of the posts on your site?

Jim, this is more evidence they aren't listening. You point out where they may need to adjust their line of reasoning and they flail onward with the same ol s*it.

Ron said...

Aw, one more time....Lincoln was not a God. He did make mistakes. Secondly the war was ALL americans. That would be a key point on any comparison of the civil war. We want to get the terrorists and people that would do us harm. We want to do it in a way that preserves the freedom and liberty we love and we want to maintain the standards of a leader in the international community.
Marshall if you can't think of one lie that George Bush has told you really need to take a more critical look at what is considered the truth.

Ron, you and Jim never listen to reason, facts or logic, so why do you think we will accept your liberal mental illness?

Marshal Art said...

That won't cut it Ron. You or Jim will need to list a lie Bush told to the American people. One that you can show was an actual lie, meaning, that he knew he was shoveling shit, and not simply mistaken in what he thought was the truth. Therein lies the connundrum. But go ahead, give it a shot.

BTB (which is "by the by" instead of "by the way"---I just like it better), I know the Civil War was all Americans. It was a joke. But the fact that it WAS Americans was my point. Bush is using his strategies to thwart foreigners that mean us harm, not Americans at all (unless tied to terrorist groups). And still, I don't believe suspending habeus applies to Americans in general, only to those tied to terrorists and maybe not even then if they are citizens. Bottom line is, you're safe.

Jim,

You miss one other possibility besides Bush is lying or a moron. Another conclusion could be: you don't know what the hell you're talking about. I don't mean that maliciously, but that you don't agree with Bush doesn't necessarily make HIM the moron. But rather than digging through the archives, there must be something you have in mind to support your contention.

One more thing to keep in mind. I don't log every word I read on any blog in the old memory banks. If you ever posted a legitimate Bush lie, it's doubtful I'd forget it.

Marshall

Al Frankin told him it was a lie (and sounded really good doing it), therefore it was a lie!

Marshal Art said...

And Franken is usually such a good source of info, too. *snicker*

Here's one, Marshall.
