Madison - Gov. Jim Doyle said today he wants to create a commission to reduce the incarceration of African-American boys and men."Far too many of our citizens, particularly African-American males, are serving their time in prisons rather than learning in our schools or succeeding in the workplace. We cannot sit by and simply let this continue," Doyle said during a Capitol program honoring Martin Luther King Jr.
"This is about making sure a lot of talented (people's) lives are going in the right direction where we can use those talents rather than sitting in prisons and jails."
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is white-guilt, liberal thought in action. The correct answer is that MORE people should be in jail. We let people out, give them probation, they we have to see how that person went and committed murder. This is ONE of the few things I don't mind my tax dollars going toward....if prisons are full of bad people, build more....
Is there anyone stupid enough to come here and say that prison rehabilitates people...
If your in jail, there is a reason since most of these people commit many, many crimes before they get caught...
The number one job of the government is to keep us safe. Safe from terrorist, and especially safe from the scum of our society. If white-guilt liberals want to focus on the fact that a much higher percentage of the population in jail are black, then let them cry racism. Start working on the reasons people from the inner city commit more crime, don't blame racism. I am most law-abiding citizens don't care what color the person is, if they are a threat to society, keep them out of it.
And what are these wonderful talents we are missing from society?
Drug use?
Robbery?
Murder?
2nd grade reading level?
Excellent ribbing skills?
Tell me...

A no brainer. If you repeatedly break the law, you go to jail. If your first offense is a big one, you go to jail. I don't mind giving a second chance to certain offenders, but overall, book 'em Dano.
I’m surprised you didn’t have something to this effect on your “17 ways to be a good liberal” list, and in spite of all the evidence, I’m sure some of your more Libweenie readers would’ve insisted it was “hogwash”.
Scorpion says---
The "dullard" Doyle continues to say things that reflect his true place in Wisconsin political history, that of a mediocre at best,
career politician elected by out of
touch mediocre voters.
You honestly think that Gov Doyle doesn’t want to send those who break the law to prison? Before blaming it blindly on liberal-bias, I would carefully look at what commission he is talking about, how it is going to reduce the incarceration of blacks etc.
I read the article and stand by my statement. He wants to see if discrimination is built into the justice system. I'd say yes. They intend to disriminate against those who engage in criminal behavior. If you want to bitch that some folks get harsher terms, I ain't listening. Don't break the law and there's no problem. Either that, or save some of the blood money for securing better lawyers.
vittal,
Yes. if they are Black. Doyle is pandering to the Black community for votes for the Democrat party in Milwaukee, Racine, and Madison.
When crime rises because of his actions, he'll just come out with another program, raise taxes, and call the rest of Wisconsin racists.
pcd,
Good point. Vittal's response is defening.
Wonder how far the ACLU got into Doyle's pockets?
