When you saw the enemy within, I'm sure you thought of liberals, but not this time.
This time it is radical Islam...
I guess you can say it is liberal in a way, because of PC liberalism, no one is allowed to question any minority about anything...and the bad guys use liberalism to attack the US and other countries all the time...just look at what is happening in the UK and France in regards to Muslims "transforming" those countries.
I feel like things are hopeless here...
Because of PC liberal thought, illegals will ruin our schools, social programs, and health care...and radical Muslims will eventually be able to commit acts of terror here like they do in Europe and Israel....can't wait.

"I'm not here to be a preacher, but in terms of political agenda items, my faith informs these things." -- Ellison
The Dems would be all over this if a Christian said such things. But a militant Muslim-- well, as long as he hates America and Western civilization, it is okay, he gets the PC-non criticism pass.
This is such a big bunch of horses**t, I have to hold my nose while I type.
"The Dems would be all over this if a Christian said such things." Baloney! There is hardly a person in government on either side of the aisle who wouldn't SAY that, much less respect anyone who did.
If I were Ellison and WorldNutDaily questioned my loyalty, I'd tell them to go f**k themselves. Can you imagine ANYONE questioning the loyalty of a bible-thumping congressman? The insults of Goode, Prager and their ilk besmirch the good name of conservatives who understand that our country was founded on religious tolerance.
Anybody who defends these insults deserves contempt. Does anybody question the loyalty of Zalmay Khalizad, a muslim?
Does Khalilzad hang out with the Hamas backers running CAIR, a terrorist front group working for sharia law in the United States?
Even Comrade Boxer won't touch CAIR with a ten-foot pole. I rest in my case.
What is Ellison's relationship with CAIR?
Well, you know Cons....
They hated Kennedy cuz he was Catholic, and they hate Ellison cuz hes Muslim.
man is rhyno full of shit...
way to pull out the race card to try and make sure no actual questioning or debate happens...its a liberal standard.
There is no debate here. Its a bunch of arrogant or stupid cowards, afraid of change, denegrating everything thats different or possibly individualist. On the other side are sappy libs who are your 180 opposites and cant stand the thought of any judgement being laid and think that just because diversity is good, that all parts of diversity are as valid as others. I know you and Jason are educated, and I think Jim is pretty logical. Other than that, this blog attracts EXTREME members of the right, and some of the left.
Despite that, you said I pulled the race card. Where the fuck did I ever mention someones race? As the moderator of this blog you have shown over and over again, you neglect to do something as simple as read what someone posts, if it appears they are disagreeing with you.
Over and over and over again, I have said I wont mess with peoples opinions, but I will coment on their reasoning or logic. Also, as a historian, I will correct peopel making incorrect assertions about the past. I did that with this post. When Kennedy was elected, the Cons went apeshit, claiming the pope was going to run the country. Its all the same shit they are trying to pull now with this guy. Instead of thinking you know everything, a few minutes of your time to keep from looking like n idiot would be well spent.
Oh, and dont post when you are really tired, or your spelling will suck like mine in that last one.
I don't think that these questions of where his loyalty lies, between country or faith, is much different than what Bush has gone through, or Ashcroft or anyone else. I would hope that if someone publicly proclaims a deep faith, his first loyalty would be to his God. If not, their proclamation is crap. Having a deep faith means a solid belief in the existence of God, or whomever you've thrown in with. Such knowledge would weigh heavily and steer your decisions toward those which God, or whomever you've thrown in with, finds pleasing, and sometimes do so to the great disappointment of many of the citizenry.
But there is a difference between what one faith persuasion influences a believer to do, and what another does. Thus, for example, I have no problem with a devout Christian in charge for I understand the faith and know that it provides a system of living that doesn't require belief in God to experience the benefits. My more limited understanding of Islam leaves me quite uncertain due to strong evidence of "unChristian" teachings. But as long as a Muslim's behavior in office reflects an understanding and appreciation for our Constitution and such, how could I have a problem? Either could "go bad".
My problem was with his choice of book to swear on, or rather that he felt he should have the choice. I believe it's up to the employer to dictate such things, not the new employee. Thus, it appears his loyalties in this instance leaned toward his faith, rather than his country, as he didn't respect the tradition. I'd have been better with the situation were he to have waited until he was in office to lobby for change in the protocol. It's certainly not the end of the world, but there is a sense of "I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm gonna do it my way." that is inappropriate in my opinion.

Really? You don’t believe some may simply be uncomfortable or skeptical of a congressman with ties to CAIR and AOU? Or are you a mind reader as well as a historian?
As far as your Kennedy comment, most Cons went apeshit over Kennedy because of the family’s socialist leanings, especially Papa Kennedy. Some Cons used the “Catholic card” as a way to drum up additional support among the WASPs. Which was stupid if you think about it. You’re either the type of person who fears Catholicism or not. It was no secret the Kennedy’s were Catholic, so I don’t see how scaring narrow minded people with “the USA will be controlled by the Vatican” threat would garner that many additional votes.
Race, religion, class envy, etc. has been used in politics since, well, since there’s been politics.
One can rise above it, make an effort to not be swayed by it, or one can use it, as this thread has demonstrated, to avoid answering legitimate questions.
Wow I did not take the rhyno's advice. Could I have more run on sentences?
