Students could be expelled; adults in fights could face felonies
Look how topical my post late last night was.
MPS policy has been to not discipline or suspend or expel kids because that makes it LOOK like things are out of control. Well, BECAUSE there has been no discipline in MPS for years, now things are COMPLETELY out of control.
So, IF MPS ACTUALLY enforces these rules and backs up teachers for once, then control can return to MPS buildings.

Scorpion says---
As it has happened in the past, a
complaint will be filed, or someone
will threaten to sue MPS, and the cell phone ban will be over.
I hope that's not true, though I don't doubt there will be bitchin' about it. What they should do is go even farther, instituting strict dress codes, perhaps security cameras in classrooms and hallways (if not already done), and tighten up codes of conduct for which suspensions and expulsions are the penalties for ignoring. I suspect that most students who wish to get educated would not be affected by such scholastic "fascism" if it means they can learn in a safe environment.
the problem is liberal educators who "understand" the situation these kids are in...we need to teach them, not kick them out of school...then what will happen to them.
Liberals would rather house every kid and teach none of them
"Liberal educators". I can't think of anything worse to which a child can be exposed.
If we really wanted to torture the detainees at Gitmo, send in Liberal Teachers and force the detainees to attend their classes.
Send them "women's studies" professors.
