"Patriotic" Pepsi

Can someone confirm if this is true...

Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building , and thePledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge,
"Under God."Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone.
In that case, we don'twant to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office, either! So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offendedwhen they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it.

I wish I still drank Pepsi so I could stop. Can't stand the stuff these days.

Of course it's not true. Stop reading this kind of "spam", Game.

I get 10 of those a day from different readers and friends...so that fact that like once a month I put one up means I don't believe most of it...and I wasn't sure if I believed this one either

Jim,

We're truley grateful to have someone such as yourself that has the time on their hands to run down every accusation. Perhaps that's why Game started this post off with "Can someone confirm if this is true...".

But you shouldn't be so quick to peashaw(?) it. The words "under God" were left out on purpose. Ya, ya, Dr. Pepper has an "explanation", but you have to admit it was at the very least a major marketing faux paux.

And having spent five years in the beverage industry, I know that even though Pepsi doesn't own Dr. Pepper, it does market and sell it with the Pepsi brands. Coke owns Mr. Pibb, and Sprite. Pepsi markets, sells and distributes Dr. Pepper and 7-up with its brands just to provide a similar variety, even though they don't technically "own them".

In summary, "under God" was left off on purpose - for whatever reason, and Pepsi and Dr. Pepper are intrictly related.

Took me less than 30 seconds.

Blamin, what purpose? Can you prove that the sole purpose was to exclude the words "under God"? No you can't.

You're really reaching on this one.

Jim, Blamin is not reaching. After observing Democrats in several states over several decades I can make these observations:

Democrats want to exclude God from America.

Democrats are not patriotic unless the media is broadcasting their events.

Democrats have to be shamed into singing the National Anthem or saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

So, Pepsi caving into the Democrats is entirely believable.

No, most of the Dems I know, just want people to have the freedom to worship God in the way that they think God should be worshipped.

It's a choice we all make, pcd.

And I'll be damned if you or anyone else can or will take that freedom away from me. Not you, Not Bush, Not Kerry, not anyone.
