Contrary to what Dems would like us to believe, most who hold any opposition to the war are those who have problems with the way it's being fought, not that it's being fought. Or rather, they still prefer victory over running away. So to think the Dem victories in the last election was a vote to cut and run is inaccurate.
Nobody in the universe thinks that the "Dem victories in the last election was a vote to cut and run" because no Democrat has ever advocated "cut and run." This is a Republic lie, a framing that nobody in the world except wingnuts believes anymore.
In fact Murtha's bill will strengthen and support the troops more than this administration ever has. It will require more training, better equipment, and more reasonable deployments. The best "reinforcements" are ones that are not on their fourth deployment, ones that are adequately trained and equipped.
Nice spin job, Jim. The Dems have never offered anything beyond pulling out the troops. That has always been the be all and end all of their "plans". Call it anything you like, but it's cut and run and nobody who deals with reality honestly would call it anything better.
Also, it's pretty naive and stupid to say that our troops aren't being trained properly. Our guys have always gotten the best training possible and when the unexpected occurs, they're trained based upon what they've learned. This is Dem deception to say they aren't trained and equipped.

The Democrats have proffered several plans. Do they all include troop reductions? Yes. Do they all call for immediate withdrawal? No.
Some call for redeployment "over the horizon". One calls for moving troops out of the cities into friendly, stable areas to be on hand as needed and to secure the borders. There are others.
Why do you continue to lie that there is no Democratic plan or that the Democrats want to "cut and run"? "Cut and run" is Republic spin. Democrats not having a plan is Republic lie.
Sure Jim. Your examples are variations on a theme, put forth to deflect charges of cut and run. Yet they accomplish the same goal of emboldening the enemy and taking us away from the only goal anyone should be talking about, and that's victory as defined over and over and over again (so don't bother asking again).

Your comment is just another example of a timetable. Wars take their own course. This war is still being waged against a new type of enemy who never appears as a uniformed army out in the open army against army. It is being waged while building the army of the Iraqi people with the idea of them taking the lead position in fighting the war. These are just a couple of the complications we face. But if you have an idea of how we can achieve our goals more quickly, that could very well make you the first from the left with a real plan. If your idea was to just crack wise, then you must go back and take your seat with the rest of the lefty defeatists and obstructionists.
