Victim in bus attack talks

Wauwatosa - The victim in what police are calling a racially motivated assault late last month on a county bus offered a bleak assessment of race relations in Milwaukee County today and said the incident left him feeling more pity than anger."I just felt sorry for them," the 20-year-old Wauwatosa man said of the teenagers suspected of assaulting him on an eastbound bus en route from Mayfair Mall on Jan. 27."There are a lot of ignorant people in the world," said the man, who attends Milwaukee Area Technical College. "There's something wrong in this (community) when people don't understand how to interact with each other."The victim is white; the youth accused of assaulting him is black.Wauwatosa police said they will refer a 16-year-old Milwaukee boy to the Milwaukee County Children's Court Center on a battery charge with a hate crime enhancer. If charged, it would be the first time in Milwaukee County that the enhancer has been used.

Glad to see that people understand racism is not just white to black...it is not a one way street...and maybe in this day and age the traffic is going in the opposite direction.
