I'll be digging it @ 2PM Sunday at an IMAX theatre. Can't wait.

That is the terrible thing...in SE WI, the IMAX is not showing it and the UltraScreen in Waukesha is closed while they build a new one...bs

I saw the movie this evening, and it was most excellent! Didn't get to see it at an IMAX theater, which definetely would have been a spectacle. Not to much high brow stuff here, just pure out action, death and mayhem. The audience was entranced, I watched it with my teenage stepson, and it was amusing to see him immerse himself in the movie. He's allready talking about driving 3 & 1/2 hours with his friends to see it at the nearest IMAX. It's not to often I shell out the dollars to see a current movie at the theater, but this is one of the few that lived up to my expectations.

Most of the reviews I've read haven't been too kind. I suspect it's got a lot to do with showing the Persians as the "Bad Guys" and the Greeks as the "Good Guys". Go figure, I can't imagine why lefties would do that ;o ?

The critics weren't to kind about Sin City either, which I thought was a good movie, it was great to see Mickey Rourke in a decent role. I've been a huge fan every since The Pope of Greenwich Village, and Bar Fly is one of my all time favorites.

Anyways, 300 is definetely worth a few dollars and a couple hours of your time if you like battle scenes and escapism. And if you favor movies like that, its not only a must see on the big screen, but a must have for your movie collection.

There were ten of us who viewed the film together this afternoon. That's...let's see...twenty thumbs up! There was also totally unnecessary breast exposure, so extra bonus points there. Amazingly (or not), for the penultimate guy flick, the women folk in attendance were greatly impressed by the attire of the Spartan warriors. So there was something for everyone.
