Two points:
1. Do all Democratic candidates have to denounce every hollywood liberal and every other liberal moron who says the only reason our troops are in the military is because they are stupid, or that our troops are Nazi's (yes, he said it no matter how much kool-aid you want to drink) or that our troops are like Pol Pot, or that GWB is a Nazi and worse that Hitler, or that the only way you'll see black people at a GOP convention is if you look at the wait staff, or, or, or, or...
For every one stupid thing Ann Coulter says, we can find about 75 stupid liberal comments.
2. Why do PC liberals think we have a constitution right to never be offended? I read a story two days ago (can't remember where so I can't link it) where two boys made fun of a Mormon girl in school asking her if she had 18 moms. Her response was, "That's so gay" SHE got in trouble for hate speech, the boys did not get in trouble at all. Certain people seem to be given this special protection against every having to hear anything they don't like. Sorry, I'm here to tell you that you have NO constitution right to be protected against things you don't like.
Do you notice how bold some liberals are getting about this topic lately. Algore said that there should be no reporting on anything that goes against the stupid global warming theories he puts out. Al, sounds like another liberal professing his love for communism. When liberals feel safe in public they let their true communistic feelings out. Let me tell you something, it is the PC liberals who are against the first amendment and against open and honest discussion about anything they don't like.
Was Ann Coulter stupid for saying that...yes. I think her point was my point, that you go to jail for hurting people's feelings nowadays, but why do we have to have a national uproar because she said a WORD. We don't get mad when thousands of illegals come across our boarder to ruin our country. We don't get mad when other countries give weapons to our enemies so they can kill our troops. But we get mad when people say words.

It would be OK, then, if she called George W. Bush a faggot?
We sell weapons to our enemies, Game. We did it with Iran-Contra, and I wouldn't be surprised if Saudi support for Iraqi Sunnis includes weapons from US manufacturers.
"Algore said that there should be no reporting on anything that goes against the stupid global warming theories he puts out."
He didn't say that. Please cite the quote or admit that you made it up. See previous post about "too much balance."
And as to point 1, we've already laid out the facts that these assertions are false with the possible exception of Cindy Sheehan and the Bush-Hitler stuff. Cindy speaks for the fringe.
Coulter is a clown. Hope that doesn't hurt her feelings.
I'm sure it doesn't...
You didn't address the actual point of the post, which is the fact that liberal PC types think that everyone has the right to never be offended or hear anything they do not like...that is the way we are headed.
And Gore's comments go along with that philosophy...
Ann Coulter, uh? No comments….smiles. Yes, I don’t want to hurt her feelings either!! ;)
You guys couldn't hurt Coulter's feelings if you tried. More than likely she'd have you wetting yourselves in frustration because her skin is thicker than the average liberal.
But whatever happened to nuance, lib dudes? If we examine her remarks, Coulter only said that she can't speak of Edwards because using the word "faggot" requires rehab. Did she say she was gonna call Edwards a faggot? Yeah, it sounds like it, but did she? Isn't that how you and yours would worm out of it? And her even saying such things could indeed be a comment on the practice of entering rehab for using a slur. Didn't your sense of nuance pick up on THAT possibility? She did open the floor for questions. Did anyone ask her if she was indeed accusing Edwards of being a faggot? Will anyone? I'm sure she's having a good laugh at those like Dean getting the vapors over this, as if they give a flyin' rat's ass if homos, or John Edwards, are offended. And you guys took the bait.
Nice try, dude! Nah - I am not changing my mind!! ;-)
Poor Ann Coulter and you fake conservative!! Awww....
It's interesting to me that you take great offense at what the liberals say..as per your post(and many others in the past), but you think it is quite alright for others to offend people you don't like. The disconnect is astounding! Why is your only argument so often..I know you are but what am I. It is childish and one reason I dont waste my time with you guys anymore. If you have any interest in what I think you can go to my blog and see for yourself. I'm not wasting my time rebutting you or any other nonsensical goofballs. At least Marshall, although I disagree often comes up with cogent points now and then. The rest of you are just screamers and whiners with no inclination to explore an issue. None of you that come here on the right care what others think or expanding your perception of anything. Only in puffing your chest and villinizing other Americans.
When I hear Coulter talk I hear a mean snarky bitch whos voice sound quite similar to an aging valley girl.
Jim
You see ( I hate to have to point this out), there's absolutely no justification in calling Chaney a pedophile. On the other hand, Edwards is acting mighty "limp wristy".
Jim
The law? What is the law when a mad man is holding a knife to my or your daughters throat?
How about this... A man threatens to take my or your daughters life? What are you going to do?
You see, my way is to protect those I'm sworn to protect, and ask questions later. I guess your way is to "hold on Mr. Bad Man while I check with my lawyers".
It was eeellleeeggall, oh gawd, lock me up, I've offended the sensibilities of the annoited!
You thin skinned libs are hilarious. Now, Why aren't you condemning Bill Maher's remark about too bad the suicide bomber didn't kill Cheney? Would you libs be so supportive of Maher if he said too bad the suicide bomber didn't kill Al Gore?
vital
It's called sarcasim, sorry you have such a hard time dechipering he remarks.
blamin,
Sarcasm, eh? nice try, dude!! ;) Sorry that you have to keep flip-flopping!
Vittal,
I hope you don't think I was trying to discern Ann's ‘true meeeeaning’. I was only pointing out that her remarks were at best, an insinuation, that she merely used the word in connection with supposedly proposed talk of Edwards, that her intention MAY have been to raise the hackles of those like yourself, and that it MAY have been to comment on the practice of seeking rehab for using certain words. For all I know, she DOES think Edwards is a faggot and means to call him that. My point was that by her tone, it was clearly meant as a humorous jab. By humorous, I meant in the same vicious way Don Rickles uses humor. But if you feel better exposing a meany conservative, go for it.
What this was all about is that Ann hadn't gotten her name in the media in a few weeks. She's brilliant!
There is definately some truth to that
Marshall art,
Oh – really? See, read my comments again. As I said it’s wrong whoever does it. Doesn’t matter left or right. More disgusting are people like you who try to find the true meeeaning of her words based on her tone, face, body language and whatever!! Why can’t you just admit that it’s wrong? You think Maher is wrong?
I think name calling is wrong. But so what? I still do it on occasion. Can I justify it? Wouldn't try to. Wrong is wrong. But, I'm not going to say that there is some equivalency to all name calling. Nor do I think that the word "faggot" has some special connotation or that it is equal to say, "cunt" or "nigger", which, quite frankly, I'm tired of also. Sticks and stones, ya know? I don't use some terms and other terms I do. Mostly for comedic effect. This Coulter thing is much ado about nothing, which is par for the liberal course. I doubt she thinks Edwards is gay. But I can't say the same for all the times I've heard libs refer to Bush as a fascist or Nazi, or many of the other things I've heard libs call conservatives. I'm much more concerned with the tone and intent of what someone says, rather than the actual words used. If a specific word leaps out at me, I'd ask for clarification. But in general, when I hear the way libs speak about conservatives or Christians, that seems a lot more meanspirited by the emotion and intent behind it. Far worse than some offhanded remark like, "he's a fag". Why is it worse than calling someone a jerk or an ass if one really means the person a jerk or ass? It isn't. It's just a word. Lighten the fuck up and don't be such a fag.
vital,
I think the main point is it's utterly ridiculous for libs to blather on and on about name calling when they're the cause of so much pain and suffering in the world.
Blamin,
So...two wrongs make it right? See, how your ‘main point’ is so ridiculous. I agree that there are many libs engaged in name calling. Does it mean that you have to defend the same act by a conservative? What stops you from condemning it? You either support name calling or denounce it.
“...are the cause of so much pain and suffering in the world.” – uh? Hope you can come out of the cloud and see the real world. It’s not so black and white. Mistakes are made by both sides. And, you better be careful when you extend your argument to ‘world’. I don’t think you want to associate yourself with ‘conservatives’ in Saudi Arabia, do you?
