This is one of the "small" schools that is taking money away from other schools. Dozens of well qualified, dedicated teachers are going to be kicked out of their school simply because our superintendent wants to take the money out of big schools and waste them on the 100 percent failure of "small schools"...

Pulaski is not a small high school. Its enrollment is larger than the high school where I teach and almost as large as the enrollment where you teach.
It is also not taking money away from your school or mine; extra funds for training and additional administrative positions are coming from the Gates Foundation.
I'm not condoning either of the idiot teachers involved here, but you need to get your facts straight on the small schools business.
They are small "learning communities" most people don't know the difference. It has been reorganized because of the false idea that these schools work. Tech doesn't work, Marshall...nope, North...just about closed down, Washington...worst school in the district...flat out, no doubt about it. No matter what name you want to give them, the "schools within a school" is a joke and a failure.
Oh, and your also wrong about the money. MPS is cutting "big schools" by hundreds of kids to force them into these crap schools that no one wants to go to...
Scorpion says---
Imagine finishing 8th grade in MPS and being told you can't sign up for the high school you wanted to go to because the silly superintendent needs you to sign up at a school implementing his pet program of having small communities in specific buildings.I
guess you better pick one of awful Andy's choices for you- or forget it.What a joke!!
That is why more and more choose to not go to MPS at all
Isn't madison in this "First things first" program?
How is that working out...I know teachers as Madison...they think it works as well as it does everywhere else...
