Gasoline prices hit $3 as refiners strain

U.S. gasoline prices shot above $3.00 per gallon on Friday, within striking distance of record highs, as the creaking domestic refinery system strained to keep up with rising demand

So, next time you have to fill up, find the nearest liberal and shake their hand. Thank them for what they have caused.
We can't drill anywhere, even in the middle of nowhere...
We can't build any refineries...
We can't use nuclear power...

Hey liberals, many of you have admitted you LIKE high gas prices and think they are a GOOD thing, now stand up for what you believe in....shout out loud and be proud that gas prices are so high...be real, true liberals...see how many votes you get then.

Jim is trying to make a joke out of it, but to most Americans it is not funny...and it is the fault of people like Jim

Too bad! It's not a joke. Higher prices for gasoline are good. Why do you think Europe is developing alternative energy sources? Why do you think 75% of France's electric power comes from nuclear power plants? Because they are not beholding to the oil lobby, they can tax the hell out of it and drive down demand. Less polluting, more public transportation, less dependence on a resource from an unstable region.

What a concept!

I have no problem with you saying that...but why don't Democrats say that in public? You know why...
And Europe uses nuclear power because they either don't have environmentalist wackos telling them they can't, or the leaders don't listen to them

I'm not convinced that the lack of nuclear power in the US is entirely due to your so-called "environmental wackos." It makes common sense that the people with the most at stake with nuclear power were/are the people with the most power, the oil industry and their lobby.

Some Democrats do say it. I believe Kerry said it and the wing nuts went ape shit over it. So not often those running for office will say it. Like most politicians, they are very careful about what they say vs. what they believe. See Giuliani. See Romney. See any of them on both sides (except Kucinich, and before you slime me, I don't like Kucinich).

What does rudi say that he doesn't believe in?
You have to be kidding me...if you were correct he wouldn't defend gay marriage and abortion...

First he was in favor of civil unions, then he wasn't.

I think any enviro-whacko like Jim should have their car confiscated. Let them live the lifestyle they advocate. Let's drill and build refineries.

You mean they are "straining" to maintain their output at 80% capacity?
