An 18-year-old punches his school's football coach and grabs his genitals. • Two middle-school age sisters jump a police officer called to calm a disturbance. • A grandmother charges a group of students at an elementary school, and then strikes the principal. • A boy tries to sell a gun to his friend in elementary school
More than once a day, a staff member reports being physically assaulted in MPS schools.
This has been happening for a long time, its just now that the paper is deciding to let everyone in on the secret...
And idiots like to say it is the lazy, stupid teachers fault these kids cant read
It is racism that keeps them down
No, its their own fault, their own communities fault...until we get rid of the advocates and white guilt liberals from defending and keeping them where they are, nothing will ever change...
I'm sorry, it will change...it will keep getting worse
UPDATE:
I taught this kid in 8th grade. Personable kid one on one, but the story is acurrate. Kids don't understand the consequences of mouthing off and bad behavior:
Buford's nephew, Terry, is an outgoing 17-year-old who admits his mouth used to get him into trouble. He has not had as many problems since transferring to South Division. Overall, he felt safer when he attended schools in Louisiana.

And another teacher gets a cell phone to her mouth and has her teeth jarred and chipped...
But, we cannot have let them have the ability to even use plastic cuffs to calm down a situation.
You are so right. The problems in MPS are not entirely at the feet of the teachers.
Game, I thought you'd be interested in what life is like teaching in South Korea.
Have a gander.
Take care.

Any guesses as to how the examples listed voted? Of the ones that acutally can and do vote?
Now lets multiply that by thousands (on a local level) millions (on a national level).
Now, lets take a long hard look in the mirror. What the hell have the libs done for these people?
keep them stocked with excuses, give them just enough freebees from the govt to keep them happy and voting for Dem's
Ded.
I followed Shawn Matthews blogs "Korea Life", then "China Life", about teaching in South Korea and then in mainland China. The big difference is the culture of the family and what is expected of the children at school from the family and community. Sadly, Shawn committed suicide in China.
The big differnece is that in Milwaukee, nothing is expected of the students.
What the hell have the libs done for these people?
Hey, it can't be worse than what conservatives want--which is to close the schools (the safest place for the kids) and let families fend for themselves. Next thing you know, they'll want to build a wall to keep them out of the suburbs . . .
jay, jay, jay
You need to do better than that! I understand the time constraints you may find yourself under, but come on! The dude (James Harris, bemoaning a broken system - built by Libs) was making a very good point!
Come on, do you really believe he was advocating the shutting down of all schools?
How about acutally addressing the issue instead of "misdirecting".
I know its hard, and you may have to confront the fact that Libs have failed so miserabley,
But all chiding aside; Jay
I'm assuming you have the best interest of the children at heart?! Why not a little tough love?
Ya, ya, I know, it sucks for the "here and know" students - but for the sake of our future, and the childrens future; at some point we have to make exampes of "anti-social" behaviour.
I wonder, besides automatically being against anything/everything from this site, what's your solution?
Jay, take away the teachers' union from the Democrats and what do you have? A bunch of hacks looking for work.
I think privatizing the schools is a good idea. One people would expect results for what they are paying. They will move to the schools that produce results.
Jay what you are afraid of is competition and responsibility. It is so comforting to hide be hind a Union contract and Tenure.
I'm not afraid of competition. I've seen the results of it in my classroom.
When these schools fail, I get the kids. When these schools kick out the trouble makers (wouldn't want to spoil those great scores, now, would we?), I get the kids. When these schools are shut down by the state for failing to meet basic standards or education or safety, I get the kids.
Believe me. I'm not afraid. I live with competition every day. So does the Game. Why don't you ask him what he thinks about the great success of Milwaukee's privatization?
Jay, I've seen half assed privatization and usually the Democrats and the Unions wrote the rules for those schools intentionally to make them fail.
Jay, you are playing propagandists ageain. You equate trouble makers to low scores. They are not one in the same and you should be ashamed of yourself for trying that dodge, but you have proven time and time again you have no shame.
Now, what other Democrat talking points do you wish to spew?
I've seen half assed privatization and usually the Democrats and the Unions wrote the rules for those schools intentionally to make them fail.
Well, you've not been to Milwaukee. The rules were written by friendly legislators who gave these schools wide lattitude and minimal restrictions. Democrats and unions fought every expansion and the expansioneers won every time.
Now we have an essentially unregulated cottage industry of fly-by-night storefronts. Seriously. Ask the Game.
Jay, Democrats and unionists like yourself fight to keep the kids in liberal indoctrination centers. Who are all your local legislators? Democrats. Why would Milwaukee even need alternatives to MPS if MPS was doing the job? You can't answer that question, Jay. Just consider it another insult. That is all you can do is play victim and blame others for your ineffective nostrums that fail constantly and require more and more money.
