That's one of the first things that came to my mind on hearing of Falwell's passing. I'm sure there are quite a few moonbats celebrating. The thing is, Jerry would pray for those sad souls. I wasn't a big follower of the man, but I feel confident the Lord will welcome him saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Most people wouldn't do that regardless of what "side" they are on, but I'll guaran-damn-tee ya that a like amount of wingnuts would do the same if Reverend Al or Jackson passed away.
Jim
You're wrong. Conservatives show a class, that libs will never know. Witness Tony Snows recent commencement address at a Catholic University.

I don't believe you can name one, no not one, libweeeeenie who would remember what the occasion was all about.
If something were to happen to Al or Jessie, I'd bemoan the fact they didn't see the truth before it was to late.
Tell you what. Since you are the one making the accusation, why the hell don't you name one who wouldn't. And of course back it up with proof.
Good luck.
Oh, Jim, lets look back at Wellstone's death. That proves you wrong again.
Five words:
Rachel.
Corrie.
Little.
Green.
Footballs.
You mean the goof who needlessly got herself run over by Isrealis? You think she got it anywhere near as bad as Falwell's getting it now? Doubt it.
Marshall, blamin wrote, "Conservatives show a class, that libs will never know." I pointed out that, well, sometimes not.
You resort to special pleading because you won't admit that your side does it, too.
Just wait until Jimmy Carter passes. (Hell, you don't even wait!) Then we'll see if "conservatives show a class, that libs will never know."

I’m not sure who you’re accusing of “special pleading”, but if me; you’d be more accurate in accusing me of exaggeration. I should have said - when compared to liberals, conservatives that show such a lack of class are so insignificant as to be almost statistically meaningless.
Your comment – “Just wait until Jimmy Carter passes.” I don’t doubt, if you search hard, you’ll find a few examples of classless conservatives spewing the kind of vitriol libs spew on a daily basis. But, I doubt you’ll find the endless avalanche of despicable speech like we’re seeing against Falwell.
Your other comment “(Hell, you don't even wait)” Hell, that’s the whole point of this thread, silly liberal
blamin, I was, er, blaming Marshall for special pleading. Which he was exactly doing--Rachel Corrie, he argued, deserved different treatment than anyone else.
And, yeah, I missed a couple of words. You don't have to wait is what I was going for . . . You may think the classless conservatives are "statistically insignificant," but, you know, my link was to Glenn Beck, who has his own TV show--hardly insignificant.

I know exactly what you were "going for".
This is what I was going for: It shows a definite lack of class to trash someone so soon after their death. Which is what the topic is all about. Which makes your Jimmy Carter reference “out-of-context”. Silly liberal.
Jay,
Allow me to correct you. I wasn't saying Corrie deserved different treatment at all. I was asking if you were implying that she got as bad as Jerry got upon her death. I don't believe she did. In fact, I don't believe she got it at all. Consider how stupid her death was. She didn't need to be standing there thinking the damn machine would stop for her. Did the guy even see her? I don't freakin' know. But any talk of her upon her death was largely about how stupid and unnecessary it was, how lame her position supporting Palestine was and whether or not her smashing was done on purpose. I don't believe I heard a lot about her being evil incarnate bound for hell like we're hearing about Falwell, who, by all accounts of those who truly knew the man, was one of the really good ones.
As to the Beck piece, I agree with Blamin that it's irrelevant. A better choice would be Molly Ivins. Hear any crap from the right after she passed? I haven't. Maybe there was some, but I didn't hear any.
I will say this, though: if there's one guy on the right who might be the type, I'd figure on Michael Savage. He'd do it to some degree, I've little doubt.
Marshall A
Details, details, I'm not so sure they'll matter to our friends on the left, when weighed against their perceptions.
Oh well, some things seem to never change.
