Democrats advance state budget

Whenever I state what Dems and liberals stand for, it usually makes them look bad and then you get the: "That is a cartoon character, liberals are not really like that"...or..."I don't think like that.
Well, apparently the people you vote into office do think like that.
To me, a liberal is someone who wants high taxes and lots and lots of govt. This usually leads to more problems and more worthless people who need others for help.

And then you read this:
Flexing political muscle they lacked for four years, Democrats on Tuesday pushed through the Senate a budget with historic tax increases, a $15.2 billion universal health care plan and a broader role for state government in the lives of every Wisconsin resident.

Doesn't seem like a cartoon character me. I understand that you don't want the average person to realize what you are, and maybe it's embarrassing when someone states in plain English what a liberal stands for, but here it is in black and white again. Nothing made up, nothing taken out of context...this is what you want, this is what your side thinks.

And here is a great example of how liberals don't get it...

For example, they voted to raise corporate taxes by 10% - or $90 million - which has long been the goal of Democratic Sen. Russ Decker of Schofield, chairman of the Finance Committee.

Democrats proudly defended the decision to spend more on their priorities of health care, education and changing the tax code to help middle-class families.

They talk about how they want to help working families...but then they jack up the taxes on business. Who do you think gives people jobs? When taxes get raised, what jobs are the middle class people going to have when companies cut pay role or or move out of Wisconsin?

See, Dem's always SAY they are for helping poor and minorities, but everything they do hurts those groups.

There are evolutionary reasons why humans will prefer bigger government. The feeling is hardwired in the human brain that if someone is getting something, then someone is losing something, so the most fair way to proceed is to share. In social situations this is generally true-- you don't want someone eating all of the cranberry sauce during Thanksgiving. We simply are not built to intuitively understand market processes, though they can be understood with a little bit of focused thought. That's why socialists always suspect sinister motives when people object to what they are saying.
