SHARPTON BLASTS JUSTICE SYSTEM

Here is a great example of black leaders focusing on the wrong things...
Now, Sharpton is probably correct. Hilton probably did get special treatment because of her money and supposed pleasant demeanor.
So, Sharpton bitches about how bad the poor black people have it in prison...
Wouldn't it be better to try and stop them from doing the things it takes to GO to prison...
I know liberals, the whole system is racist and minorities are not responsible for their actions, they are just set up, the people in court don't do anything wrong...
Here is my point, work on correcting the behavior that puts you in trouble and stop blaming and focusing on racism all the time...
I don't know why, but EVERYTHING is based on race, sex and gender to liberals...

well done philip...I agree 100%...
well, I guess more like 85%...
WHY are laws enforced more harshly on minorities?
See it like this...
You have 1000 students at a MPS high school and 1000 at Nicolet High school. After one school year 700 of the MPS kids were suspended atleast once, and 75 were suspended at Nicolet...would you say the teachers and administrators were "more harsh" on the MPS kids...actually you could say yes. But WHY were they more harsh? Maybe it was the behavior of the kids that forces the adults to buckle down more...
See my point?
YOu take all the adutls from Nicolet and insert them into that fictional MPS building, and you will have the same number of suspensions with totally different "enforcement agents"

When I say that laws are enforced more harshly against minorities, I am not talking about your (entirely correct) comment. Obviously, if more people in a given population are committing crimes, more of them will be punished.

An example of what I am talking about is the difference in sentencing guidelines between crack and cocaine. Crack is used more in the ghetto because it is cheaper. Cocaine is used more by white people because it is more expensive and more "glamourous" or something.

"For powder cocaine, a conviction of possession with intent to distribute carries a five year sentence for quantities of 500 grams or more. But for crack, a conviction of possession with intent to
distribute carries a five year sentence for only 5 grams. This is a 100:1 quantity ratio.
Under this format, a dealer charged with trafficking 400 grams of powder, worth
approximately $40,000, could receive a shorter sentence than a user he supplied with crack
valued at $500. Crack is also the only drug that carries a mandatory prison sentence for
first offense possession. A person convicted in federal court of possession of 5 grams of
crack automatically receives a 5 year prison term. A person convicted of possessing 5
grams of powder cocaine will probably receive a probation sentence. The maximum
sentence for simple possession of any other drug, including powder cocaine, is 1 year in
jail."

But like I said in my first comment, if you dont touch crack or cocaine, you dont have to worry about the "racism"

Hilton should never have been released to her plush mansion. The LA County Sheriff is a Democrat hack. Hilton ought to have been transferred to Maricopa County, AZ, like other overflow prisoners. That's Sheriff Joe's tent city jail where he has an all female chain gang for cleaning up the highways.

Actually, Hilton should have been told shut up and take your punishment like an adult. If she was in danger of getting shanked, then move her to isolation, not her mansion.

Now you have Sharpton, the ACLU, and other groups of pinheads agitating for the release of all the other prisoners. Yeah, right, like Hilton, they'll stay home in their plush abodes.

The problem in LA was illustrated by Rodney King. If you are black, you can get a jury to look the other way via Jury Nullification and not really convict the truly lawless. The people of CA enacted "3 Strikes" for a reason. The real criminals were in a revolving door. They came out better schooled in committing crimes rather than convinced Jail was worse than obeying the law.

Libs like Phil don't like drug laws because they like drugs. Thank you, George Soros.

Isn't more accurate to say that the sentencing guidelines for crack is due to it's more insidious nature? From what I understand, it's more addictive. I've done some grind in my time and I thought that was highly addictive from the get go (I was always happy my contacts weren't easy to contact.) But I heard crack was far worse. Any input?

Sheriff Baca is a Democrat, Phil.

A Democrat that is endorsing John McCain for president is no Democrat.

Not that I think you are lying, but where did you find out that he's a dem?

Realism said...

Marshall,

I agree that crack is more insidious. However, it is B.S. that the sentencing guidelines are 100 times more strict for crack than coke.

First of all, you cant make crack without coke and secondly, to make crack, you need to mix it with a base, like baking soda. So, crack is not even as pure as cocaine. When you have 5 grams of crack, you really have about 2 grams of baking soda and 3 grams of cocaine.

But it's the effect, and the cheaper price will attract more victims. I think tougher penalties are appropo. We do agree that the best strategy is to not break the law, and that's the important thing.

Phil,

While you are so busy being wrong, I knew from LIVING IN SoCAL that Baca was a Democrat. I am also good friends with a family member of the Democrat Party Chair for CA, Art Torres.

Did it ever cross your mind that McCain is getting very close to being a RINO, and is considered such by many conservatives?

Did you know, Phil, that in Japanese, Baca means, "Idiot"?

Sheriff Baca would be an idiot if he doesn't take up Sheriff Joe Arpaio's offer to house Hilton in his jail. If Sheriff Joe's jail is good enough to house Dianna Ross for her DUI, it is good enough for Hilton. Besides, Arpaio handles the press better than Baca does.

Sybil, do you ever back up anything you say with evidence?

PCD said...

Phil,

Like what do you want, Baca's voter registration? A Los Angeles County ballot?

LA County is a far left and Democrat as NYC or DC.

I guess only fools like you, living in your parents' basement, can't figure out things or google on Sheriff Lou Baca.

hey sybil, I did google him. All I found was endorsments of Republicans.

Tell me, what kind of intolerant democrat hack endorses pro war republicans like McCain? (you moron)

BTW, I don't live with my mom. I live in a 3700 sq ft colonial built in 2004.

Phillip,

I have to give you credit, at least you didn’t claim the harsher penalties were because of racism.

I remember when crack made its debut. The reason the penalties are harsher is because the citizens demanded it. Violent crime rates (as well as non-violent theft) were skyrocketing and much of it was due to the prevalence of crack.

Game,

Even though Sharpton is a despicable human being, who is one of the leading causes of racial strife, and deserves nothing but our contempt, I really can’t see where he “bitches about how bad the poor black people have it in prison... in the statement you linked.

As a matter of fact this just may be the first time I’ve ever agreed with Sharpton, one of the worlds most famous pimps.

Phil,

Try again, you incompetant fool and Damocrat party hack. Better yet call Art Torres or the CA Democrat party. If that is too hard for you, try the LA County voter registrar's office.

Phil, how do you not get a fist in the mouth or nose every day?

Although Sheriff Lee Baca (a registered Republican) won in a non-partisan election landslide

Baca, a Republican, was elected Los Angeles County's 30th Sheriff against his mentor Sherman Block, who had died in office days prior to the election but remained on the ballot

'Phil, how do you not get a fist in the mouth or nose every day?'

It could have something to do with the fact that I'm 6'5", 250lbs and have a brown sash in Ip Man wing chun,

but more likely its just that most people I meet are not violent morons like you.

Phil, don't be overconfident. There are always bigger people than you with black belts in more than one discipline.
