Sopranos wacks NBA finals

From 8 to 9pm Sunday, the two events went head to head. IN that time, Cleveland at San Antonio averaged 8.5 million viewers and The Sopranos 11.9 million.

Just to compare, the 1997 NBA finals averaged a 16.8 rating, 1998 held a 18.7 rating.

Just in case someone wants to say all sports are in decline, lets see how those stats look:

This years World Series averaged about 16 million and the 1997 World Series averaged 15 million....

GAME,these numbers really aren't that surprising to me.People can't relate to the pro ballplayer/entertainer anymore.I'll
go watch grade school or high school basketball anytime.Pro games
in July? Not that far away.

The NBA is okay, though college ball is better. I absolutely cringe when I see players travel from the 3pt line and lay it in. And fouls are called for just breathing on people-- what happened to the good'ol days with Barkley and Laimbeer? I want to see basketball, not ballet.
