Jay and others like to say that liberals just making stuff up to make their point does not happen...
Here is ANOTHER case, and the liberal paper printed this in the letters to the editor knowing that it is crap.
The fallen deserve better
A photo on Page 4A on June 29 showed the deputy chief of staff in charge of the U.S. Army in Europe saluting a cardboard box printed with an American flag, tied with baggage ties, containing one of our fallen soldiers from Iraq.
I am appalled that our soldiers are being shipped home in cardboard boxes little different from pizza delivery containers without the simple decency of a proper casket and genuine flag. Our current administration of draft-dodging warriors has sunk to a new low.
Marc McCroryJanesville
First, Marc confused Bush with Bill Clinton, since Bush served in the National guard during Vietnam (you can say that is wimping out if you want, but he didn't run away to another country like your hero Bill Clinton did) Now I know...you come up with names you find on Daily Kos when Clinton is brought up, but he did so many things wrong, he must be brought up when idiot liberals get it wrong...
The other part of the story that is wrong is that the pic (that I can not find on the Internet yet) is not of a cardboard box. Our soldiers are not shipped home in a cardboard box. And it is irresponsible of the liberal Journal to even print this crap. But, some people will think this is true, which plays into the liberal strategy to say anything that pushed their warped reality.
If anyone can find the actual pic on the net, let me know...

Ok....so, you are going to list conservative lies too? Ooops, I forgot - conservatives don't lie!
Here's the link to the LTE.
I didn't see the photo, as I won't pay for the paper, and I couldn't google anything about cardboard coffins. The photo and the caption are not anywhere obvious online. Until someone can verify what is actually there, I won't comment on whether the letter writer lied. However, two things:
One--There is no evidence that this guy is "liberal." We know nothing about his politics except that he doesn't care for Bush or the current war policy. That's something that describes more than 70% of the US populace right now, including many conservatives.
Two--The writer is not inaccurate in describing the "current administration" as "draft-dodging." Let's set aside the W question, and just consider the administration as a whole, particularly those responsible for crafting our foreign policy. As you can see, a lot of them did not serve, including some who would have been prime fighting age during Vietnam: Cheney, Rice, Wolfowitz, Rove, Perle, Feith--all didn't serve. Another list notes that Libby and Bolton also didn't serve. Even current SecDef Gates didn't serve, though he did join CIA in 1966.
Face it: That's a huge chunk of the current administration with no military experience--including real dodgers (Cheney has claimed to have "other priorities" during the war, for example).
Now you want to stifle free speech by censoring letters to the editor?
When the letters are flat out lies, then yes.
If the writer thought that it was a cardboard box, then it's not lying, it's a mistake. A stupid mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.
Is this the best you can do? I will direct your attention back to ann coulter repeatedly claiming that Bill Maher wished that Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack.
That is a real lie. And it is coming from the mouth of one of the right's most respected spokespeople, someone with access to the ears and eyes of hundreds of millions of people, not some random, anonymous person writing a letter to the editor.
I don't think you can say Ann Coulter is respected...I just like the way she puts things at times...you guys just get mad that she is the only conservative that gets away with saying whatever she wants...

Yes, because Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, and Oreilly are the very models of rhetorical restraint.
I don't think you can say Ann Coulter is respected
She sure packs em in at any of her speaking engagements. She sells a lot of books too for someone who is not "respected"
As opposed to some person writing a letter to the local newspaper.
"...She sells a lot of books too for someone who is not "respected"..."
Ann Coulter does NOT sell a lot of books.
In fact, the publishers have to buy back huge numbers and have them given away at wingnut events, meetings, churches, synagogues...
It's ALWAYS been this way with conservative publications, and the authors accept this.
Cons even demand the rest of the country subsidizes their propaganda!
That makes a lot of sense. I was suprised that many of her fans actually knew how to read.
very insightful and intelligent comemnt realism...great debate...

HAHAHA HAHA HAHAHAHA HAHA AHAHAHA HAHAH AHAHAH HAHA HAH AHA HA HA HA HAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHA HAHA HAHHA AHHA HAHA AHAHA HAHAHAH HAHA
Whoa. That was funny. Whew. Move over Chris Rock. You got some competition now. Hooo.
Anon,
Pick a name, dude. Anything will do. Separate yourself from others who sign in under "anonymous". You can still be anonymous without being "Anonymous", if you get my meanin'.
Pick a name, dude. Anything will do.
I get your meaning Marshall. I just discovered this blog recently, after seeing one of The Game's post in badger blogger. BB is starting to get boring after Patrick kicked out all the crazy comedic hippie libs that kept posting, but I see there are plenty of them in here.
I'll pick a name when I can think of one that's as clever and witty as "hashfanatic". Maybe if hash will let me smoke a bowl from his wizard shaped bong I'd come up with a good one. Thanks for the info.
"Maybe if hash will let me smoke a bowl from his wizard shaped bong..."
Actually, I believe his bong is donkey shaped. Guess which end he "sucks" from.
"But, these don't count, right?"
Well, actually, the traitor Ollie's book was released prior to the "Contract On America" and its little book distribution program, and Limbaugh sells on his own...
All the others?
Nope.
(It's also nifty to take a hefty tax deduction, for the equivalent of passing out leaflets on the street...)
Sure, indoctrination is a good use for American tax dollars. Why not?
I think you've all gotten off the point of this post: Game can't prove this letter writer's a liberal, can't prove this letter writer lied, and doesn't seem to acknowledge that a significant chunk of Bush's war cabinet has never been in the military.
