Bonds' chase comes full circle

Does anyone want Bonds to break the record?
Do you want to see him break it here?
Are you going to go to the games? (they are all sold out)

It sickens me to see Bonds come close to breaking this record. I guess there are a few people who don't believe Bonds used steroids, but the vast majority can use their eyes and see what has happened to his body. You take away 20 or 30 HR's the years he was really juicing up and he would not even be close.

If anyone wants to debate that steroids don't help you hit home runs, I'd be happy to make you look like a fool.

Yeah and imagine what he would do if he wasn't walked 200 times a year. I have no love for Bonds but this righteous indignation is getting tiresome. How many of the pitchers he has faced are juiced. No way to know, is there.

Bonds will break the record unless he keels over from a heart attack. So just lay back and enjoy it.

He will break it, it will be ashame, and anyone who respects baseball can not enjoy it

How about Mark McGuire breaking Maris' record? That OK with you?

Jim, that comment was typed to try and imply that I am racist and am only mad that Bonds is doing it because he is black...
At the time I loved it, but of course he now goes in the same catagory as Bonds.
There are some differences, that might not matter but need to be stated.
When Sosa and Mark were going for the record, fans were not as aware of the steroid use.
Bonds is a big huge asshole which makes people more mad that he is breaking the record.
For us in Milwaukee, Aaron hit most of his homeruns as a Milwaukee Brave and Milwaukee Brewer, so we like him and don't want to see an asshole who cheated break a legit record

I had no intent of implying you were racist. I merely asked what about McGuire.

Any stats on total walks by Aaron vs Bonds?

I was watching the Brewer game last night and they gave that stat...I don't remember it but Bonds wins big time...I think he gets walked like 4 times more...

So if Bonds walks 200 time a season, imagine what his total would be if he walked only 100 times a year.

Remember, I am not defending steroids or Bonds' use of steroids. I have no doubt they added to his power. But hitting home runs also takes a good eye, a good swing, and good hand-eye coordination, none of which is enhanced by steroids.

And he is a jerk. But I'm just saying, there's more to the story than just steroids.

By the way, if you get a chance, watch The Ghosts of Flatbush on HBO about the Brooklyn Dodgers. I'm not even a big baseball fan, but I found this documentary fascinating. Give it a watch.

Wasn't McGuire recently up for the Hall? If I'm wrong, I'm thinking of a Sportscenter debate that illustrated his long odds of making it on the 1st ballot.

Ill feeling certainly aren't reserved for Bonds.

Well Jim,
Bonds was s solid hitter with skill before steroids...
However, you are seeing what steroids does for him...
It keeps him free from injury, that gives him more homeruns
More power, more homeruns
He can make it through the year with less injuries and more power...
Otherwise you get what you have now...hurt, can't play everyday...and way more hits to the warning track or less, that would have been out before...
And I read something that one of the things he might have been taken are known to improve vision as well
