Democrats pledge support for wide access to abortion

WASHINGTON -- Elizabeth Edwards said Tuesday that her husband's health-care plan would provide insurance coverage of abortion.

There ya go, my taxes are going to be used to kill babies.
Actually I am very happy about this announcement, the libs are kicking their moonbat liberalism into high gear. Even though about half the country is okay with abortion being legal "if the health of the mother is threatened" (which is crap because with modern techniques that barely ever happens, but keep using that as your excuse), there is just about NO ONE who is for late-term abortion and I am going to guess that most are not in favor of government sponsored baby killing.

Look, that's one of our things - not forcing women to give birth if they don't want to. Conservatives disagree, of course.

It's liberal. Elizabeth Edwards is a liberal. What about this is news? You think its "baby-killing." Obviously, we don't.

I oppose the forced breeding policies of the Republicans.

IF you can't handle your responsibilities, put the baby up for adoption, don't kill it.
hash, you are a flat out moron.

hashfanatic said...

Oh? Really?

Why should my tax dollars go toward invitro-fertilization procedures to benefit couples that insist upon breeding, when God clearly did not mean for them to?

As the right-wing extremists demand the denial of reproductive services to all women, they also deny everyone else access to life-saving cures for horrible illnesses by opposing stem-cell research at every turn...

They want to save the fetus, only to drop the baby on its head, once it's born.

This is one of the reasons why the death cult also known as neoconservatism has been rejected by increasing numbers of Americans as bizarre, theocratic, and inhumane....

Precisely why the courts need to be taken back. Without delay.

Um, I hate to break you out of your comfortable shell, Game, but you can be made to have sex. Indeed, one in four women will be made to do so against their will at some point in their lives.

Um...you, plus the Black Panthers, and a few Leftys at Duke, and a foursome here at this blog are about the only people left in the World who think these guys were guilty.

Of course, having ALL the evidence go your way helps PROVE your innocence, I suppose, especially when the Prosecutor has been removed from the case and disbarred from practicing law in the State of No. Carolina on account of misconduct in this particular case.

But we'll sure take your word for it, I'm sure you are an expert in your own mind.

It's an authoritarian death cult.

I've dealt extensively with the question of the beginnings of personhood at my blog, and thus far there's been no one who can equal the data used to support my position. Though I question Chet's stats of 1 in 4, there certainly is too many who are forced. But, that can be reduced and from those forced situations, the amount of conceptions are few.

But all that is subterfuge anyway. Abortion is simply to prevent birth. They pretend it's not a child, but some soulless tissue, and then kill it for selfish reasons. It is demanded as much by guys with no honor or sense of responsibility as it is by women who think porking with abandon is a feminist statement. It is the ultimate dodge for those who put orgasm above all else. It's another way for Dems to continue being the enabler party.

hash, you are a waste of time...that statement is wrong on so many levels I'll just invite you to read all the stories I wrote on that topic...you want to talk about racism, that case was an ACTUAL case of racism, as opposed to the made up racism that happens when a school puts a club on a basketball hoop...

I never said that those punks were guilty.

I'm saying they were punks for being involved in that whole mess of a scene in the first place, rape or no rape.

And I'm saying that a certain number of neocon loyalists were obsessed with the punks' acquittal to a point where, had there BEEN a rape proven, they would have never accepted it anyway.

Granted...and I believe the need for authority (both to project it, and submit to it) has its roots in early childhood sexual abuse, torture, and psychological needs unmet by the parents of so-called conservatives...

I don't believe most normal, level-headed, responsible adults sit up nights figuring out how to control what women choose to do with their bodies or their reproductive health. I do believe these marginals do have an unnatural obsession with wedge issues like reproductive rights, marriage equality, etc. because they have such unsatisfying personal lives themselves, and misuse religious doctrines to legitimize their own controlling tendencies.

Hash,

Your point is ludicrous!

What you’re doing is called “projection”.

Just because your mom got her ass kicked by her pimp for only bringing home $10 after a night filled with blow-jobs and her constant crack-fix, just because she “gives” you to her boyfriends for a night of entertainment in exchange for a pack of Marlboro’s, doesn’t mean all, or even most families live in such an environment.

But I can understand your pain and frustration (oh what frustration!).

Game,

Sorry for the "tone" of my last comment. I just wanted to make sure Hash got the point with an example he could relate to.

Hash-

Give me a break. You've gone off the deep end with your last post (as much as it pains me to agree with blamin).

Both sides use wedge issues (gay marriage, evaporating benefits for seniors) during election season because they work!!!!

hashfanatic said...

I don't agree, Andy (but it's fine that you do!)

True conservatives quite frankly give a damn what other people do with their own lives....these voyeuristic obsessions are a fairly recent development with the onset of neoconservatism, and are manifested by the examples they use to try to make their points.

Talk about "coarsening our culture".

correction: "don't give a damn"

I'm sorry, but you are the one that seems to be INTIMATELY acquainted with that scenario.

It's like I could figuratively "feel your pain" when I read that last part about "she “gives” you to her boyfriends for a night of entertainment "

Your courage is an inspiration to us all, blamin.

"I hate to burst your bubble, but the middle class, a majority of which have conservative values, are the glue that binds this country, the “backbone” of America."

If you think the so-called middle class share YOUR values, you've been sniffing glue.because if the majority ever believed as you, this country wouldn’t be around for long.

"because if the majority ever believed as you, this country wouldn’t be around for long."

I would argue that if the majority believed what you believe, perhaps this country shouldn't even be around....

The Game said...

ya, this country would be much better off with the liberal philosophy of blaming everyone for your problems, thinking the world sucks, and waiting for the govt to makes us happy...that has worked so well for minorities and other inner city poor...

Marshal Art said...

I really love the "conservatives want to control other people's lives" nonsense. When it comes to abortion, as well as other sexually related matters, we simply prefer that people not treat other humans like things just because they happen to be in the earliest stages of development, and that those who really must experience orgasms in order to feel alive take full responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Where's the problem here?

hashfanatic said...

"Where's the problem here?"

The problem is, if you don't wish to have an abortion, don't have one.

If you don't wish to be married to a gay person, don't marry one.

If you don't wish to practice family planning, don't practice family planning.

But don't work to undermine the rights of those who do, when what they do is absolutely none of your concern.

Chet said...

And I, as a liberal and a biologist, would prefer that you didn't treat things as though they were people, particularly when an indisputably-human adult woman has to bear the consequences of that upon her body.

A fetus is not a "person in an earlier state of development." It's in too early of a state to be a person. But I understand that we disagree about that. The best thing would be for you to not get abortions if you don't want to have them, but to let the people who disagree with you about the humanity of a few cells act as their conscience dictates.

Personal responsibility, in other words. Pro-choice, in other words. It's not necessary for you to be responsible on behalf of all women.

Marshal Art said...

Chet,

As a biologist, you shouldn't need me to explain the facts of life. You shouldn't need me to explain procreation, and how the act of interourse is the means of such.

As a man of honor and integrity, if indeed you consider yourself so, you shouldn't need me to remind you that a cold objective understanding of the process can lead to only one conclusion, that being that from the moment of conception, a new person exists.

As a liberal, one who claims no biases, it should not be hard to see how questioning the "personhood" of someone due to being in his initial stage of development, is no different than denying personhood to a black man, a woman, a Jew, a dwarf, a cripple or anyone else. For that is exactly what you are doing by denying personhood to one who is just begininning life. To define such life in any other way is subjective and a denial of the biological facts of the situation. Your creds are worthless to take such a position.

Hashboy,

Abortion isn't family planning. It's "OH SHIT! I'M NOT READY YET! LET'S PRETEND IT ISN'T HUMAN!" Preventing conception is family planning. Using your dick only for pissin' until you're ready to support a child is family planning. Killing the kid is...not.

And if you want ot marry a fag, murder your unborn, or butcher it in some futile chase for miracle cures, fine. Be a scumbag. Just don't force me to support it through taxation or legislation. I'd like better from my country than the enabling of a bunch of jerk-offs who can't control themselves.

hashfanatic said...

"Just don't force me to support it through taxation or legislation."

Marshall?

Your taxes are the dues you OWE in order to be a part of American society, earn a living, and enjoy all the benefits and advantages that being a part of American society provides you.

You do NOT get to direct or even criticize the lives of total strangers that have absolutely no effect on your life. Your job is to be a productive citizen, pay your LEGAL amount of taxes IN ACCORDANCE with government regulations, and vote in local and national elections when you choose.

THAT is called democracy, in case you haven't noticed (or were improperly reared).

Incidentally, your language and attitude are disgusting and reprehensible, and I strongly suggest that you and your buddy game work out some way so that your last post does not reflect on yourself and the rest of the posters here.

Much of what you posted there goes over the line of hate speech and if you're going to begin to go down that road, I'd expect at least the same in return, and you need to consider whether the consequences for bringing your friend's blog into the gutter is really something you're prepared to accept.

Marshal Art said...

Hasher,

Oh really? Paying taxes are my dues? No foolin'? What a freakin' newsflash! Thanks for the update, but I got news for ya. I pay my taxes. And as such, I have every right to voice my opinons, vote for those who reflect my opinions, and publicly mock the opinions of the crotch-centered dregs of my society that wish to muck it up with legislation that enables their lack of self-discipline. Quite frankly, I do indeed get to mock or criticize the lifestyles of those who bring down the character of this nation. In fact, it's a duty I take seriously. I generally do so by supporting like minded politicians and legislation.

But what you're implying I do, is remain silent while these vermin seek to change our culture and force my compliance through taxation to help pay for and defray the costs of their lack of self-discipline, and silence others who speak out against their selfish behavior through hate crimes legislation. I won't have it. I won't abide it. So you can take your twisted sense of sanctimony and jam it. For nothing is more disgusting and reprehensible than that.
