Liberal media at work

One of the ways the liberal media works is by the way they label people. Everyone conservative is "conservative" or "far-right" or "religious right." They are labeled that way because conservatives are not in the mainstream to the liberal media. All the people in the liberal media hang out with more liberals, causing them to think that normal thought is liberal thought. So when there is a story about a liberal, they are either labeled moderate or centrist, or not at all. There is no need to put a special label on a liberal, because they simply think like everyone else in the country.

Here is a great story about the liberal media calling Obama a "centrist"

What would you call a candidate whose interest group ratings include:
100% from Planned Parenthood
100% from NARAL
0% from the Illinois Association for Right to Life
0% from Americans for Tax Reform
100% from the NAACP
8% from the American Conservative Union
100% from the NEA [teachers union]
100% from Children's Defense Fund [Hillary's old group]
100% from NOW
88% from the American Immigration Lawyers Association
0% from the Federation for American Immigration Reform
100% from the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees
100% from Americans for Democratic Action [gold-standard of old lefty groups]
Again, what would you call such a candidate? Well, if he's Barack Obama, and you're Richard Wolffe, you'd call him a "centrist."

Seems about as extreme to the Left as you can get...

In terms of political ideology, Obama is on the left not the center.

And yet, at the same time, you have an op-ed in the supposedly liberal NYtimes written by two supposed liberals cheerleading the war in Iraq.

These supposed liberals were put forth as "war critics" and "bush critics", but even a cursory glance at their record shows that they have been supporters of the war all along.

Putting aside your opinion of whether the war is going well or not, what kind of liberal bias leads the NY Times to put these two forward as "war critics" who have suddenly seen the light, when, in fact, they have been war supporters all along, and have staked their professional reputations on the the war, and specifically on the surge?

Not only that, but they were paraded around all day on different news outlets and introduced as war critics that have "seen the light" and no note was made of the many articles that they have written in support of the war.

What liberal media?

I presented another example of how people in the media are so liberal that they think that Obama is a moderate...and you have nothing to refute my argument but that?

"In terms of political ideology, Obama is on the left"

ok, in what "terms" is he a centrist, "realism?"

By the way, "realism", any chance you could just stop being a coward and go by the "djhuru" name you skulk around other blogs with?
thanks.

SU-
In terms of the opinions of the majority of Americans, he is smack dab in the middle.

Oh, and I can go by any name I want. I have never tried to hide who I am, so go fuck yourself. If you want, I'd be happy to provide my address if you want to pay me and my Sig a visit...

you're on crack, dj, to believe he is "smack dab in the middle" of American opinion.

OK, dj, go by any name you want.
i guess i can call you douchebag whenever i want, too.

Realism has done it, has shown EXACTLY why the media slants liberal...they believe that their far left views are DOWN THE MIDDLE as far as political thought go. Getting a 100% rating from NOW is not DOWN THE MIDDLE...

Game,

And you base that statement on......your own opinion? I'm sorry but you are not the most objective observer I've ever encountered.

I'd suggest taking a look at NOW's methodology and other politicians with similar rankings- that may lead to a may informed stance.

Andy,

You are another far lefty trying to justify the far left being the center of the country.

The Game is right.

Phil, you are a self-admitted liberal. You should be ashamed of pulling this falsehood of America being a leftist country. If that were true, why are you and the other Democrats so intent on pulling America to the left to meet your values?

So here's the question: Does one define "centrist" as some position that can be determined to be logically somewhere in the middle between very conservative and very liberal as when Game suggests when he talks about "DOWN THE MIDDLE as far as political thought go"?

Or is a centrist determined by political demographics? The "median" of political opinion such that half the population is more liberal and half the population is more conservative?

That is a good question...but I'm tired and will hope someone else will answer it...I await your answer in the morning

PCD- I did no such thing in my post. My suggestion was rather rational. I assume you're too blinded by your "rational" fear that liberals are secretly planning to install a Communist regime in the U.S.

Yeah, you're a sharp one....
