Healthy Wisconsin and abortion

Under the Senate Democrats' Healthy Wisconsin health insurance plan, Wisconsin taxpayers will be forced to pay for the abortion of any Wisconsin woman, including:
The married woman who isn't sure who the father of her baby is and doesn't want her husband to know she's got a boyfriend;
The woman who is having her third abortion;
The woman who doesn't want the inconvenience of a baby to interfere with her career plans
The woman who doesn't want to appear in a bikini with stretch marks
Any other woman, for any other reason, as many times as she wants too, no questions asked, no restrictions whatsoever.

I really don't think I want my hard earned tax money going for this, do you?

I don't want my tax dollars to go for your war for Israel either, but I haven't been given much choice in that, have I?

And I don't want my hard earned tax money to go to tobacco farmers or oil company subsidies, and I don't want my hard earned tax dollars to rebuild your bridge. And I don't want my tax dollars to pay for your father's viagra.

But I pay my taxes and I get some things I need in order that others get some of the things they need. I deal with it; why can't you?

But the abortions, game, they're for the children! :p

"I don't want my tax dollars to go for your war for Israel either,"

Here we go again, socialists blaming the International Jewish Conspiracy for all our troubles. The Democrats sound more like David Duke and Pat Buchanan every day.

Realism said...

Wow, Jason - Saying that Democrats sound like republicans - What an insult!

I don't know about socialists or Democrats, or David Duke, Jason, but I know about the PNAC, and I know one big huge reason why the troops are in Iraq, besides fouling up everything they touch.

Why not be honest about your REAL reason for hating Pat Buchanan?

Are you Jewish?

Mr. Fanatic--

No. Are you a nationalist?

My principles are internationalist and cosmopolitan-- free people, free markets, and free governments.

As I thought, liberals going into super-crazy mode. I didn't hear one comment about the post. I heard some more anti-Semitic talk from Hash, Jim displayed the typical "all over the map" comments liberals give when they get really, really emotional...and they are impossible to respond to...
I'll wait until you guys calm down

hashfanatic said...

"Are you a nationalist?"

In what context?

"My principles are internationalist and cosmopolitan-- free people, free markets, and free governments."

In essence, globalism, one-world government. Am I not correct?

hashfanatic said...

"I heard some more anti-Semitic talk from Hash..."

Game, would it be possible to see a hint of intelligent questioning, critical thinking, thoughtful analysis, and a suspension of your usual simpleton judgements before replying, JUST ONCE??

Game, please explain to me how any criticism of Israel, or even Jews, is automatically antisemitic?

Think slowly, THEN reply, please.

"In essence, globalism, one-world government. Am I not correct?"

Nope. I said free governmentS in the plural.

hashfanatic said...

"It is quite astonishing. You mentioned abortion, and the first thing that comes to H. Fanatic's mind is that our foreign policy is controlled by sinister Jooos!"

Well, no, Jason. Actually, Game stressed not wanting his tax money to go toward supporting a government policy that he disagreed with, so I gave him an example of a government policy that I disagreed with that I didn't like as a comparison, to illustrate that sometimes we don't always get what we want in this life, yet we rise above it and move on.

Jason, I can see that you have been trained well in the robotic rhetoric of the neocon charade. You know precisely the trigger words to spew out at the slightest hint of "incorrect" dissent.

"When called on this disgusting tripe, Fanatic's reflexive response is, "are you a Jew?""

It was not reflexive, but it was direct, which you cannot handle. Subterfuge and mirrors are your intellectual stock in trade, and when confronted directly about a pertinent detail, you fly into an unrestrained, murderous rage.

But we have grown used to such tantrums.

Now, Jason...if you virtually prostrate yourself upon the preeminent document of neoconservative intent toward this world, a document that Benjamin Netanyahu himself had a key role in authoring, do you believe that being Jewish and holding a hawkish pro-Zionist worldview might make your passionate expression of fealty just a BIT more understandable to the average person?

"What a scumbag."

Do you spend your ENTIRE life on Earth reacting defensively to simple questions and hurling invective on anyone unwilling to accept your beliefs and opinions as gospel?

Must it always be so positively UGLY with you wingnuts?

jhbowden said...

Mr. Fanatic--

Again, if you think we went into Afghanistan and Iraq for the Joooos, you're a scumbag in the mold of David Duke and Pat Buchanan.

It isn't more complicated than this.

hashfanatic said...

Well, then....

"My principles are internationalist and cosmopolitan--"

Okay, so what you are trying to say, is that "free trade" policies that favor other nations without stimulating growth either at home or abroad, like GATT and NAFTA, are desirable because of the edgy, sophisticated IMAGE that they create for the US, its citizens, and even non-citizens, regardless of real cost in the short run.

"Nope. I said free governmentS in the plural."

Free, free, free...

Oh, how we are oh, so free.

Jason, do you consider the Chinese to be "free"?

Do you believe the Chinese are freer since they were given most favored nation status, or are they simply less impoverished as a whole?

hashfanatic said...

"Again, if you think we went into Afghanistan and Iraq for the Joooos, you're a scumbag in the mold of David Duke and Pat Buchanan.

It isn't more complicated than this."

Then why don't you seem in any way able to actually explain it?

hashfanatic said...

"I didn't hear one comment about the post."

Probably because abortion is one of the few subjects that you will never get anybody to agree upon, and you are ramming your beliefs and your agenda down the rest of America's throat.

hashfanatic said...

"...liberals give when they get really, really emotional..."

Actually, I only see you wringing your hands like a washerwoman, and Jason getting hot under the collar and throwing drama....are Jason and you both liberals now??

jhbowden said...

Mr. Fanatic--

Free trade benefits both parties, absolutely. We've known this David Ricardo published his theory of comparative advantage in the early 1800s.

Take India, for example. They were isolationist for a long time, believing the socialist bullshit about economic independence and self-sufficiency. Hundreds of millions of people lived in poverty. In the 1990s, they tried something different. Over the objections of the trade unions, India opened itself to "foreign predators," sold off a lot of state industries, and deregulated entire sectors. Now their economy is growing at 10% GDP a year. That's outstanding. Millions of proletarians are being transformed into proprietors, a fact that drives socialists crazy.

NAFTA is another great example. This is one of the big reasons why we saw the economic boom in the Clinton years, and is the most important accomplishment the Clintons achieved. Mexico now has a robust and growing middle class. Extreme poverty has been sharply declining in Mexico-- it was around 50% in the mid 90s, now it is at 17%. Again, here is an example of me defending progressive ideals, and the Democrats opposing them.

The political spectrum is more like a circle than a straight line. The far left has gotten so extreme that they are now far right, even to the point of scapegoating Jews. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

jhbowden said...

"and you are ramming your beliefs and your agenda"

I advocate nothing of the sort. For one, my beliefs are pro-choice until the fetus is viable, and restrictions including things like parental notification.

However, my position is not in the Constitution. The 10th amendment says any power not given to the federal government belongs to the states. So I advocate letting the states democratically finding their own stances. This is hardly forcing an agenda on people. If you want to see an example of that, look at Roe v Wade, which makes a travesty of the due process clause of the 14th amendment.

hashfanatic said...

"The far left has gotten so extreme that they are now far right..."

There actually may be more wisdom in that comment than I ever would have given you credit for....

Fortunately, I don't happen to fall into either one of those categories.

"even to the point of scapegoating Jews. Tsk, tsk, tsk."

Well, I've asked at least twice why you equate criticizing Israel with "scapegoating", or why that would even be wrong in the first place in your mind...why Israel and the Jewish people must be worshipped to the detriment of our nation's health.

This mentality (a neocon trademark) is precisely why I wondered if you were a Zionist Jew, or a "christian" fundamentalist. It is the height of the very "political correctness" your pundits and radio hosts claim to despise so.

As for your previous three paragraphs gushing over the merits of corporatism and the fallacy known as "free trade", I respectfully disagree.

One more question.

I realize you are carefully indoctrinated by the authors and architects of the failed policies neoconservatism, but why must everything you dislike be "socialism"? Do you realize that socialism's boundaries are finite?
EVERY SINGLE POLICY that does not fully in accordance with the neocon precepts, that were single-mindedly designed to undermine America's government and social fabric, must be heaved into the "socialist" basket, simply because it is a loaded term?

Americans want capitalism, but with sanity, and sufficient regulation to check the abuses.

It's astonishing that you cannot grasp this concept, or that over eighty percent of all Americans have gotten hip to your wiles.

hashfanatic said...

"I advocate nothing of the sort. For one, my beliefs are pro-choice until the fetus is viable, and restrictions including things like parental notification...."

Jason, that is nice for you, but if you take a look up at the original comment, you'll notice that it was directed at Game, not you.

Game, my comment directly addressed your final sentence. DIRECTLY.

In the future, why don't you just tell us exactly which sentence or point (if there is one) in your post that we are required to respond to? Or maybe just comment for us as you often do.

jhbowden said...

Mr. Fanatic--

There are two ways of organizing society -- either on the principles of choice and consent, or on the bureaucratic principles of the army: command and obey. You can call the latter socialism, nationalism, liberalism, statism, progressivism -- I don't care about the word, but the principle it represents.

Freedom will always outperform socialism. If the United States goes Marxist at precisely the moment the world is going in a capitalist direction, history will pass us by.

Now, the Jews simply do not control American foreign policy. Normally fascists say shit like this. Furthermore, no one says Israel gets everything right. But if you can't tell the difference between a parliamentary democracy (Israel), and a horde of theocratic wackjobs led by gun-toting gangsters (Pallies), you're not seeing the big picture.

hashfanatic said...

"Freedom will always outperform socialism."

Liquid Tide with Bleach Alternative will always outperform socialism.

The downtown "A" train to Far Rockaway will always outperform socialism.

Kid Creole and the Coconuts will always outperform socialism.

But what exactly do these statements have to do with the price of tea in China (or milk, since that appears to be the latest wingnut obsession...)

"If the United States goes Marxist at precisely the moment the world is going in a capitalist direction, history will pass us by."

Jason, (and I know I'm going to regret asking this), can you provide an example of one Marxist policy you see looming over the American horizon?

And, perhaps you can tell us who these pesky Marxists are, for good measure?

"Now, the Jews simply do not control American foreign policy."

Well, that's just silly.

Or rather, it is incomplete. Individuals that place Zionism and the present state also currently known as Israel on a higher priority than that of the rest of the world in general, and America in particular, are controlling American foreign policy. They are not always Jews (but, more often than not, are, think they are, or wish they were.

"Normally fascists say shit like this."

Well, no, Jason, if you knew anything about fascism in the flesh, you'd realize that it is you neocons who have adapted fascist tactics to suppress any possible discussion regarding ANYTHING having to do with Israel. Many years ago, before you were even born, it was quite common for friends, family, work colleagues, students, etc., to discuss (sometimes heatedly) the Israeli-Palestinian question openly.

Neoconservatism has turned the Israel topic into a veritable thought crime. It is ironic that one is freer IN ISRAEL to discuss Israel's role in world affairs and the relentless teat-sucking drain the entire Zionist machine has become on the Western world.

Until this dichotomy is resolved, efforts to achieve Middle East peace and global security will go nowhere.

But PNAC hawks are completely UNINTERESTED in peace, for in chaos, they can steal....

"Furthermore, no one says Israel gets everything right...."

Jason, with all respect, I spent the better part of an hour reviewing your blog, and there was no serious criticism or even mention of Israeli crimes against humanity there. There were, however, HEAPS of vicious slurs, undisguised, murderous hatred, and utterly unsubstantiated falsehoods leveled at MUSLIM targets, that seem almost to come out of a Kahane Chai recitation book.

That's an indication of wild-eyed fanaticism to me, and, as an American, I have every right to comment on it, point out the idiotic quagmire folks like you have gotten this nation into, and work on developing ways forward.

"But if you can't tell the difference between a parliamentary democracy (Israel), and a horde of theocratic wackjobs led by gun-toting gangsters (Pallies), you're not seeing the big picture."

Ask any fanatical right-wing Jewish settler in Yesha or the Shomron, anyone evicted from Hebron or Gush Katif, how "democratic" Ehud Olmert and the exalted Israeli parliament has been for them.

Ask any of your "gun-toting gangsters" about how life under the Hamas/Fatah power structure (created by Israel to begin with) is treating them. Go back (back into time...) and remember the attitudes you expressed about Arafat, years before anyone ever imagined Hamas and Fatah would come on the political scene.

Your intellectual philosophies and deep seances with "FREEDOM!!" are all well and good for you in the Midwest...but they've certainly gotten millions cheerfully killed all over the Middle East.

And you seriously wonder why they'd want to send a few rockets our way.

jhbowden said...

Mr. Fanatic--

First of all, note that economic freedom has been salutary for all of the countries that try it. Socialism in contrast has an ossifying effect. Society does not advance by legislation, regulation, and litigation. Even the French are moving in the direction of liberty.

Freedom is inextricably linked to progress. Progress occurs when the rare combination of genius and circumstance develops a unforeseen new idea, technology, food, fashion, mode of production, entertainment, et cetera. My central idea is that we learn from choice, competition, and criticism. Markets are decentralized systems characterized by fluidity, variety, adapation, and improvement. As a result, with the free movement of people, ideas, and goods, a free society will maximize its opportunities for breakthroughs. This is the greatness of the United States the socialists in our midst wish to destroy.

hashfanatic said...

"This is the greatness of the United States the socialists in our midst wish to destroy."

But, Jason, I've already asked you. Who are these "socialists in our midst"? What are their names?

All you've done is recite the supposed positives of a failed political ideology. These values may look good scribbled on a blackboard, and I guess this was all very fashionably edgy and revolutionary in certain academic circles at one time.

But none of it (and I mean not one single aspect of it) does anything to get America back on the right track, so why would anyone without a secondary agenda choose to embrace it?

jhbowden said...

H. Fanatic--

You love dissent, correct? Try yelling in Arabic "Zionists are great!" and "Mohammed was a child molester!" in the streets of Ramallah and see what happens to you. You be dead before you can say Jack Robinson, either by shooting, hanging, or beheading.

Israel on the other hand tolerates people as deranged as yourself. No one says Israel is perfect. No country is perfect. However, if you can't tell the difference between a modern, civilized democracy (Israel), and gun-toting gangster religious fanatics (Palestinians), you need to sharpen your powers of discrimination.

Since you don't like Palestinian television, since you know it sinks your case, here is footage from leftwing MSDNC showing the Pallies celebrating American deaths on 911. I'm certain the calls of "God is Greatest!" merely echo Palestine's commitment to secularism and pluralism. /s

The Game said...

Jason, that was way too correct for Hash to allow...coming up next, a comment about neocons or Jews or name calling.

hashfanatic said...

No, game, that's not true. My point is that jason has bought into the whole media-fed concept of the Middle East being rife with Islamics out for our throats, when the truth is far less cinematic.

After all, EVERYONE hates me, even you people. There's absolutely no reason or motive to promote the "evil anybody" myth...it will gain me nothing. All of these hatreds and prejudices have causes and reasons behind it...I'm simply a little more willing to point out the discrepancies between them, in the hopes that an original thought from someone might issue forth.

Sorry, but talking mice and bees don't cut it, when walls are built across the birthplace of my Savior and segregated highways are being illegally across the Shomron.

Islamic "terra"? It's not truly an American problem, apart from that which we generated for ourselves in the first place. The Bush Crime Family's open borders policy for illegal immigrants virtually insures a constant deluge of foreigners who have no place here, so it's a matter of just needing a war, based on a lie, a "new Pearl Harbor", as jason's PNAC manifesto clearly lays out, in order to demonize and kill.

By the end of this month, it is estimated that a million Iraqi civilians in occupied Iraq will have been murdered in cold blood.

I'm not the one advocating mass genocide in this nation's name, folks.

The best way to fight world terrorism is regime change at home.

hashfanatic said...

"Sorry you are such a cold heartless bastard.
Liberals like the right to choose when it comes to:

No, I'm not. You are the heartless one, wanting to take away a woman's reproductive rights, and control over her own body (legalized rape will soon follow).

You even begrudge a woman the basic human right to life by denying her access to live-saving procedures, or in the event of rape.

And you want only to save the fetus, yet once the baby is born, you have no problem dropping it on its head.

If you don't want to have an abortion, don't have one. Otherwise, mind your own business and tend to YOUR responsibilities.

"free speech-anything they don't like is called hate speech"

You are free to say what you like, but I am equally free to denounce it as hateful filth.

"right to bare arms-except for criminals"

No, I believe in the right to bare arms. The criminals should be forced to wear long-sleeved dress shirts and ties at all times, as additional punishment.

(And I am not a gun-control supporter. Not with freaks like you running loose, anyway.)

"what to eat-liberals want fatty foods taxed higher..."

WHAT? This is a key concern for you? Luxury items SHOULD be taxed as luxury items. This is a new concept?

"what to smoke-Doyle wants to increase cig taxes by 2 bucks a pack"

Better than taxing the elderly.

Better than tax-exempt gambling winnings for Rethug hotshots on offshore boats.

Better than the wealthiest two percent ripping off America by gypping the government out of their tax obligation on multibillion-dollar legacy inheritances.

"right to run your own business-Dems keep trying to pass laws making smoking illegal, even in cigar shops and bars."

This I agree with you on, but you lie when you blame it on "Dems"...here, Democrats and Republicans were equally fixated on making restaurants, bars, and even nightclubs smoker-hostile.

Anything else?
