Major attacks decline in Iraq

The number of truck bombs and other large al-Qaeda-style attacks in Iraq have declined nearly 50% since the United States started increasing troop levels in Iraq about six months ago, according to the U.S. military command in Iraq.

The high-profile attacks — generally large bombs hitting markets, mosques or other "soft" targets that produce mass casualties — have dropped to about 70 in July from a high during the past year of about 130 in March, according to the Multi-National Force — Iraq.

I guess Durbin's wish of the United States failing in Iraq might have to wait a bit longer.
Liberals will read this, and because they want us to fail, they will have some reason why this report is not valid, or someone will show troop deaths.

Of course, anyone who has a clue knows you can't use troop deaths to measure success. You have to look at the goals and objectives of the military action.
First military action: Get rid of Saddam, success.
Second action: Allow Iraq to form their own govt, still working on it.
Third: Slow down terrorist in Iraq. Looks like that is working too.

See, you MUST follow the conservative philosophy of hard work and sticking to something. If you go with the liberal philosophy of quitting as soon as things get to hard, you never accomplish anything.

Watch Obama, Clinton and Edwards stop talking about Bush's increase in troop levels as a failure, and switch to simply calling the Iraq war a mistake. Doesn't it suck when your political success is directly related to your country losing?

lololol

Why do you even bother then, The Gayme?

The Game said...

Why do you?
I made a valid point that can be talked about, you show that you do not have the ability to debate time and time again, you are clown shoes.

Realism said...

Time will tell. I hope to God you're right and the surge works. That way, we'll have unanimous support for bringing the troops home instead of just overwhelming support.

If the surge does work, though, what we will have accomplished is spending nearly a trillion dollars to install a government that is friendly to Iran, and will probably be more under their sphere of influence than ours.

Good thing roadside bomb attacks are at an all-time low... and... The Iraqi govt. is finding solutions to their differences... civilian death? ptsd? all on the decline.

Realism is right though.. only time will tell. Further, everybody really hopes something positive can come from this mess. It just helps if The Gayme & Cronies will present a well rounded discussion of the situation. Rather than this propaganda littered piece.

As for Iraq only helping Iran.. well.. the Limbaugh Lovers will only be satisfied of that fact when Rush, himself, tells them what to think.

if you can't come up with anything to say, then don't come...your comments wont stay on here long.

The Game said...

That last one was for "jesus"
Parklife is doing what liberals love to do...try and dismiss any conservative thought as simply a follower of Rush or Sean or somebody other than myself. Can you prove this?
Does you calling names and making false claims make you feel good? Does it make your point more valid? At least you had a small point in your verbal diarrhea

Game,

You have done the same, as have others on this site who share your viewpoint. It's only when those with a different perspective use this tactic that you bitch.

Your moral authority is questionable.

Why do Iraqis rate conditions in Baghdad as worse than ever before?

Why are the provinces considering severing themselves from the central power grid?

These are real indicators of Iraqi suffering under occupation. If you don't believe we are BUILDING future terrorists, you are sadly mistaken.

jhbowden said...

"occupation"

Enough with the Newspeak. We wouldn't say that America was "occupied" by France during our war for independence.

Scorpion, let's raise the level of debate.

Do you have any comment on this post? It details an illegal neocon arms deal for Iraq, uncovered in Italy...

Thank you.

Again Hash, what the hell is wrong with you? I know you are a hate-filled liberal who has no ability to think clearly...
Do you think using the word neocon does anything?

I'll take a sentence right out of your link:
The Associated Press has learned that Iraqi government officials were involved in the deal, apparently without the knowledge of the U.S. Baghdad command

So where are the neocons Hash?
Where is the US involved in an illegal deal.
God are you an blind, hateful idiot.

Are the wingbats at DailyKos getting happy making new tin-foil hats for this story Hash?

Let us stick to the facts of my post. I know you can't do that, you can't admit when something goes right for the USA. I wonder how that feels to be so miserable, and the only thing that makes me happy is to see my country fail? Tell me about that Hash.
I'll stick to objective facts. You can make all the jokes you want and type neocon or whatever DailyKos tells you to type, but there are nothing but facts here.

That's our good old Darth, now hiding in the murky shadows! :)

And the oligarchs' contracts to take the Iraqi oil all last thirty years.

The neocons have, in essence, committed American troops to occupation of Iraq for at least thirty years.

That's why all the facilities they build for the soldiers and the private mercenaries are permanent.

The Game said...

We are still in Germany...read a history book.
Also, where is this blood for oil you guys like to talk about?
If we were getting oil for blood, why is gas $2.99 a gallon?
I want answers!!!
It was smart of you to not comment on your link.

"We are still in Germany...read a history book...."

Uh, actually we're not, apart from a few major installations that relate mainly to transport and medical services.

"Also, where is this blood for oil you guys like to talk about?"

Maybe, since your government does not allow you to see pictures of flag-draped coffins being unloaded at stacked at Andrews, you are unaware that there are American troops dying over there.

And it's "Blood For Oil, Israel, And Logistics"....

"If we were getting oil for blood, why is gas $2.99 a gallon?"

What makes you think that a giant multinational oil conglomerate that gets their product for next to nothing necessarily feels bound to lower the price YOU pay, especially if you have little choice but to comply?

"I want answers!!!"

Well, ya got 'em!

"It was smart of you to not comment on your link."

What do you mean?

mega dittos Realism

Das Gayme..
My only point was that if you want to be honest about Iraq you need to acknowledge all of it. That includes the good and bad. And yes, there is both out there. You would have much more credibility. Just a suggestion. Until then, you are just a propaganda hound.

Beats the heck out of me why anybody would swallow hook, line and sinker the lines that come out of any WH. Even more confusing is conservatives distaste for government at every turn, yet.. feel that govt. invasion and occupation make complete sense. Of course they would eff this up.. it’s the govt.. and they’re here to help.

hashfanatic said...

Parklife, you cannot expect objectivity from those who place party over country.

It is a question of a need to conform, to profess obedience in return for personal gain, privilege, and status, that enables them to tell the greatest lies ever told, excuse the most monstrous atrocities in the history of mankind.

They only value government and power when they have it. None of this libertine crap was spewed before the failures of neoconservatism were indelibly branded on the collective American consciousness and they realized the possibility of perhaps not being able to steal yet another election.

The neocons work both sides of the manipulation coin, as well? After all, who better, after the exhausting effort of having been expected to perform to bare minimum standards for eight years and failing, to take over and clean up the mess, get us out of debt, repair the economy, and give 'em a little rest, while they do nothing but agitate and subvert any Democratic administration in charge?

That way, once the fickle tastes of the ignorant American (and the latest version of the Diebold scam machine is perfected) are ready for rollout, then they triumphantly roll back in for another installment, with fresh money to burn, new wars to start, and a rejuvenated, vibrant nation to once again rape and pillage.

Always remember about the neocons:

In chaos, they can STEAL....

'Nuff said.
