Miller Mainstage Review:
The Mainstage was a CountryFest tonight. Things went as they always do for a country show. Luke Bryan did a meet and greet with about 30 people before the show. He took pictures and had a thick pad of 8x10's that he signed for anyone who wanted one. The same went for country veteran Tracy Lawrence. For the most part, country fans and acts are very down to earth and polite. Based on what I saw at Bennos concession stand they also are very thirsty and the only thing that can quench their thirst is beer.
One of the problems the fair has right now is that they start their main stage shows too late. So the 4900 people who could be leaving the concert around 10pm and going out into the fair and spending more money are sitting at the show until 11:50, not spending money, except for at Bennos stand (which I'm sure he is okay with).

Luke Bryan put on as good a show as a new guy can. Tracy Lawrence has a bunch of hits, and the crowd did get into it more in the second half of his hour long set. I would say he had the biggest crowd of the night. By the time Gary Allan finally made it on the stage it was after 10pm and there might have been 3000 people left. The fans who stook around had a great time dancing and singing along.
I had a chance to walk around the fair for about 40 minutes today. It was 84 degrees without a cloud in the sky. I basically walked down grandstand ave. to see just about every food on the planet, and just about every kind of person on the planet. That is the great thing about the fair. I saw families, little kids, teenagers, baby boomers and seniors all having a good time. With the weather being perfect, one can also have a good time simply watching the nice "scenery" that is walking around as well. I went to get my Herb Kohl milk, but this year it is not 2 for a quarter, but I would say one glass of milk for a quarter is a pretty good deal.
Hopefully the weather is good today and I can spend a few hours trying to see and eat as much as I can.
