Wisconsin State Fair Day 5: Monday, August 6th

Before I comment about tonight's show, a word about the fair. I have to say that the weather is putting a big damper on this years State Fair. Usually after the shows we like to go out into the fair and have a drink or two. It is the highlight of the fair. Two things have prevented us from doing this. One, shows start too late and run to long. Therefore, by the time the shows are over the park is closed. Two, the weather is so bad that no one is at the Fair late, so things close down before we can get there. The weather does not look good at all until Friday.

Main Stage Review:
The Wisconsin State Fair Church of Christian Rock had its doors open tonight at the Miller Lite Main Stage. Church has seen better attendance in years past, however, around 3900 did make it out to enjoy religious music with a twist. Now, these are all good guys, but I have to say I was not impressed. The opening act did not sound very good at all. It all sounded the same, and I couldn't understand a word of it. The crowd didn't "feel it" either.
The headliner, MercyMe, was better, but they didn't get the crowd into it until the end. They did have a few good sounding songs, and they had a new song that I have to admit was moving, but over-all I have heard better. With that aside, the songs that I could understand the words were very uplifting and moving. It is certainly a better message than you would get from most other concerts. And that is a good thing.

Todays food intake only included a wonderful, scrumtrulescent corn dog.
