Wisconsin State Fair Day 8: Thursday, August 9th

MAIN STAGE REVIEW:
Kool and the Gang helped 2200 people Celebrate good times at the Miller Lite Mainstage Thursday night at the Wisconsin State Fair. All the hits were there: Celebrate, Joanna, Ladies Night, Cherrish the Love, Get Down on it, Too Hot, and Fresh among others. These guys still put on a good show filled with dance moves and crowd participation. They obviously played to the ladies. One time in the show a part of "the gang" was dancing for the crowd and asking the ladies to show their approval. After the second attempt he asked if he heard any guys in there. These guys had to get off the stage, go to the airport to catch a plane to do the Today show at 7am, then fly to San Fransisco for a show Friday night, and then have another show Saturday Night. Oh, the life of a performer. Something interesting did happen after the show. "Kool" Bell wanted to let another band member know that he was "singing too much." I just thought that was interesting. I small verbal disagreement calmed down quickly, and the guys went inside to change. It is a shame the crowd was small. Kool and the Gang has sold over 70 million albums worldwide over 35 years, and Thursday Night at the Wisconsin State Fair they made it seem as if this was their first show in front of 20,000 fans.
Ruben Studdard opened the show. He showed up 20 minutes before he was supposed to go on stage. However, the show started 25 minutes late because Ruben was hungry and needed to get some fried chicken. Most people do not eat 5 minutes before they go on stage, so finding this food took a minute. After a big plate of chicken was found and ate, Rubben was ready to pretend he was on American Idol. A lot of unnecessary flashing singing. I think American Idol is a terrible show, and it was clear Thursday night that it produces terrible winners with very little to offer.
BABY GAME GOES TO STATE FAIR: We took baby Game and three Grandparents to the Fair. We ate lots of fried cheese, cream puffs, drank milk and looked at the horses, sheep (my favorite), cows and baby animals in the discovery barn. I was very excited to take baby Game to his first of many visits to the best place to go to have fun during the summer months.

BABY GAME at the Wisconsin State Fair was certainly cause for a "CELEBRATION" long before KOOL ROBERT BELL and the GANG ever hit the stage.Might I add here another very entertaining show for those who attended.

I must have been at a different fair because Ruben Studdard put on a great show. But to each his own. I was right in front, must have missed the fried chicken run. I did hear him say he was a vegetarian, so I know we were at a different show. Kool and the Gang were great. Loved them.
