A quote to put liberals in their place

"[M]ark my words, [Saddam] will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them... Iraq [is] a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists, drug traffickers or organized criminals who travel the world among us unnoticed. If we fail to respond today, Saddam, and all those who would follow in his footsteps, will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity... Some day, some way, I guarantee you he'll use the arsenal." - President Bill Clinton (while President)
where I found it

It is very hard to take liberals seriously, if they couldn't so easily ruin the country. They will say anything to keep power. Clinton probably believed this, and so did the rest of the world. When you step back and think about it, you realize how sad it is that Democrats pretend these kinds of quotes never existed. All that matters is that they are against anything GWB is doing. They put their own thirst and quest for power above the good of the country. When we went to war everyone agreed on the same intel, and we acted on it. Liberals simply make up stories and present them as fact (when the say Bush lied about intel). It shows either a lack of knowledge about what is going on in the world, or their lack of integrity. Either way, they can not be trusted to run ANYTHING. If you ever feel yourself waver or become unsure about the Republican candidate, just remember all the treasonous things liberals have been saying about our President, our Military and our soldiers for over 6 years. Losers like Hash can say it is not his military, and that is fine. Our soldiers fight for our freedoms, otherwise a person like Hash would have been murdered a long time ago.

"They will say anything to keep power."

Isn't that the case. Here is a video of Hillary making the case for regime change in Iraq, based on her over ten years of experience of dealing with Saddam. Of course, now she says she was duped by Bush, which is complete horseshit.

What a moron! (I'm not being my usual polite self tonight. My apologies).

Everybody knows Clinton said this. And at the time he said this, it may actually have been true. EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT AT ONE TIME SADDAM HAD THEM.

Everybody also knows now that at the time Bush invaded Iraq, Saddam did not have them. In fact, even though many people believed that he had them in 2003, everybody now knows that THERE WERE SERIOUS DOUBTS IN THE INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES. And Bush knew this. And Bush knew that inspectors IN IRAQ were not finding any.

So quit dredging up bullshit quotes that are irrelevant to today and irrelevant to the decision by Bush to commit this country to the worst strategic blunder in US history.

You can't blame it on Clinton. Stick to Vince Foster theories even though they are still full of shit, too.

And I couldn't care less about what Hillary says. I don't support her.

Jim--

Hillary Clinton, in the video above, says she's believes Saddam hasn't disarmed since she has been following the issue for over a decade. You can't seriously claim she was duped by Bush in the 1990s.

I know Hash is on the crazy train, but you're normally a little more reasonable. What gives?

She's your nominee. Will you vote 3rd party?

Well, you're always welcome to vote for Rudy if you wish ;)

Who cares?

Everyone knows Bill Clinton was really a Rethug at heart. He's into the whole free-trade scam, the globalist one-world disaster, the whole megillah.

Why bring him up now, if not to just hear yourself bleat, "Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton, Bill...", for the seven hundred thousandth time?

I'm one of the few people I know who was NEVER duped by the dim son. I MAY have been duped with a certain amount of neocon "Islamofascist" crapola at the time of the 9/11 occurrences, but I
always understood, since even before Bill Clinton was LEGALLY elected our President, that it was our sick, misguided, ungodly policies and allegiances in the Middle East that were the direct cause.

I really have no reason to doubt that, given the neocon blood purges of all progressives after Chucklenuts' selection and the persecution of her husband, she may well have been fed disinformation, knowingly, by the Bush Crime Family.

Really, isn't there very little one can put past the neocons, as their policies have manifested complete, universal failure, and their desperation has resulted in complete, depraved, ethical and moral breakdown?

I find all of this "power" nonsense hysterically funny, coming from minions of an administration steeped in complete terpitude, driven to fix not one but TWO elections, and a president who simply kept firing respected, professional generals, until he'd come across one that would dance the little polka he wanted for the cameras.

Frankly, a piece on Greenspan's book which CASTIGATES the Rethugs tonight would have been a hell of a lot more interesting and thought-provoking then the same old endless whining and sinas chinam.

Clinton may be the Democratic nominee, but Giuliani doesn't have an ice cube's chance in hell.

"I know Hash is on the crazy train"...

Remember it well (and please consider , styling gel is available inexpensively, at most mass-market retailers...)

Think of your parents, if not me.

Would YOU??

Hee, hee, hee!

Well, I heard somewhere that Hitler was working to exterminate the Jews, perhaps we should invade Germany as well!

You know good and well that the quote you dredged up was from before operation Desert Fox and about 5 years of diplomatic isolation eliminated his WMD capabilities.

Why are you so dishonest?

Ron said...

Why would this put liberals in their place? Your constant guilt by association is getting to be a rather tired tactic.Besides I don't consider the Clintons liberals.(Bush isn't a conservative either) I have no idea what it will take for you guys to quit acting like this. PCD is a lost cause who's only stimulation in life is rage and a rather childish attempt at intimidation, but you would think the others of you that actually seem to have a functioning brain could see through the crap after a while. You never do. You go on being good little soliders for Rushs or Seans army.

very interested to see what Jim says about not voting for Hillary....and that is why Ron is wrong as well. When you vote, you are really voting for a party, not a person. Especially in the last 15 years. 90% of the time everyone follows party lines. One time I voted for a Dem...and I would have voted for Perot if I didn't believe it was really a vote for Clinton.

Why are you so dishonest Game? You know that liberals aren't claiming that Saddam NEVER HAD WMD's, obviously, Republicans sold them to him.

We are saying that it was clear at the time we invaded that he was disarmed, thanks to the efforts of President Clinton and despite the efforts by congressional Republicans.

Jay Bullock said...

A lot of people have already made good points about this being an historical quote, in fact preceding the 1998 bombing that, according to the Duelfer report, put the final nail in the Iraq WMD coffin.

But because it took four more years to get good intel, and inspectors on the ground, we couldn't be sure. However, once we had that intel, we knew that Saddam had no WMD. Well, I shouldn't say "we" knew. Bush knew. And, we also know now, Bush did not pass that information on to the Congress (which is why, Jason, Hillary had to rely on her decade of prior knowledge--Bush was holding cards he didn't show).

Bush knew about the tubes. He knew about "Curveball." George Tenet flat-out told him new intel said there were no WMDs. But not a word of that made it to Congress, the UN (thanks, Gen. Powell!), or the American people.

I suppose you can make a generous argument that Bush was dissuaded from believing the new intel (as opposed to the old stuff he gave to Congress) by the people he surrounded himself with. But even then, you cannot say, without lying, that the Congress (or the UN, or France) saw the same intel Bush did. It's just not true.

bozo Bill........do you really want him to be still around as a part of the horrid Hillary crew???
Now that isn't funny!!

Game, I vote for the person that best reflects my positions on issues and my values. I don't agree with anyone all the time. Unfortunately there are many on the right that I disagree with nearly always. What's a guy to do? You as almost all on the right are only capable of seeing things in black and white. This is why you get it wrong on liberals almost always. By the way I'm not voting for Hillary in the primary either. Sad you think she is such a liberal. Why do you think the liberals that come here are not excited about her? Cuz she is a DLC triangulator who would be the best gift the right could get outside of a Republican.

The Game said...

Ron, I think you are smart enough to understand that you MUST vote for the party in a majority of cases...Just look at the voting records of the people in Washington...how often do they vote outside the party?
NOW, if you want to try and vote a DIFFERENT conservative or liberal into office via the primary, that is a different story.

hashfanatic said...

Let every man vote his conscience, or his interests...

Jay Bullock said...

When you vote, you are really voting for a party, not a person.

I find this interesting, and your later reply to Ron as well, Game. It's interesting because so many Republicans and self-styled conservatives are now running so hard away from George W. Bush. If it were just the Republican Party you all voted for in 2000, and not Bush himself, you'd have no reason to run from him. You own him, his mistakes, his war, his lies to Congress and the American people. That's the Republican Party legacy, not Bush's.

Right? I mean, that's what you're trying to hold us to, so it must work for you. Right?

hashfanatic said...

"It's interesting because so many Republicans and self-styled conservatives are now running so hard away from George W. Bush."

They justify this by calling the shrub a "RINO"...

They think they can use this maneuver to replace one psycho's policies with ones even more psychotic...

Conservatism is a failed philosophy but they want to deny this, and ram it down the American public's throats anyway.
