Supervisor Ammiano drafting legislation for ID card for illegals

link
San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano is drafting legislation to create a city identification card for immigrants unable to get traditional ID cards, a move likely to anger advocates of tougher immigration enforcement.

The liberal readers at this page like to simply SAY that neocons and Republican run the world and the United States, and then end their comment. No facts, no reasons, just talking points and emotion.

HERE is a clear cut, great example of what happens when pure-unhinged liberalism is allowed to grow. Liberals want illegals to have ID cards, why? So they can take money out of your pay check and get things for free. Is that the liberal American way? Is that what makes us great? People who don't respect our country enough to become citizens are given free health care, free social services and free education from liberals.

You want to talk about the destruction of everything that makes this country great, here ya go...done by a liberal.

Again, you are trying to paint the political landscape in black and white, but this is not realistic...everybody forms their true opinions on what they personally experience.

For instance, I am totally against the idea of issuing IDs to illegal aliens, because, to me, the issuer is acknowledging the presence of the alien in this country, and therefore, is accepting it.

But not everyone who leans left holds this way. I'm considered to be impossibly rigid and inflexible on the issue by some of my peers...most come down somewhere in the middle, but certainly not for amnesty.

Those I know that lean right tend to oppose leniencies for illegal aliens if they are either traditional cons, or if they are older...but a large of number of the young kids and a whole lot of neocon types absolutely believe illegal aliens are a necessity to the workforce....those are baffled by my hardline attitude and honestly believe the economy will collapse if they are deported, and don't believe it could be done anyway.

You're quite happy chalking me up to be a garden variety liberal, but you see the true liberals here take pains to distance themselves from my views on race, Israel, etc.

It IS more complicated to form your own opinions on individual issues, and you do have to keep up on a wide array of news sources to guarantee your own objectivity, but it ultimately is easier then just hopping on to the most extremist platforms that existing political parties try to shoehorn you into.

Well said, Hash. Game always takes the approach of attacks focusing on the people instead of the policies. That's why conversely he believes that if you criticize a Bush policy (an oxymoron, I admit), you hate Bush.

I don't see Tom Amiano making national policy here, do you? And I'm not sure I agree with what he wants to do here.

People who don't respect our country enough to become citizens

Now here's a statement rife with ignorance and bigotry.

I see Jim and Hash have no idea that what the this SF lamebrain is trying to do is illegal, but so was issuing marriage licenses to gay couples.

Fudgie, I am against issuing ID cards to illegal aliens (reading comprehension!) because it is illegal, but I have no problem with marriage equality because it IS legal.

Don't tell me you're one of those self-haters, fudgie.
