This is really hysterical, folks, and definitely requires all drinking vessels be properly stowed before continuing.
Just days before Rush Limbaugh was attacked by a number of press outlets for discussing "phony soldiers" on the air, ABC's Brian Ross did a segment on "World News with Charles Gibson" dealing with "phony heroes...scam artists...posing as the war heroes they never were, claiming credit for acts of courage in Iraq and Afghanistan."
Marvelously, this story was aired on Monday, September 24, just two days before Limbaugh made his comments. And, as noted in a NewsBusters posting by the MRC's Brent Baker, the report even mentioned the same "phony soldier," Jesse Macbeth (pictured to the right), that Limbaugh did on his program Wednesday.
Will media attack ABC with the same zeal they did Limbaugh? Maybe even more important, will House Democrats offer a resolution to condemn Ross, Gibson, and everyone involved in ABC's report?

ABC was reporting on the staggering incompetence of the administration on internal security issues, and keeping undesirables out of the military...
Rush was ragging on soldiers that think for themselves and don't march in lockstep with his failed neocon ideology.

Rush has maybe two years left in the biz (if he doesn't overdose or get caught in a brothel sooner)...

That's not a good indicator of future performance, and, even if it were, I don't see him growing old on this gig...
Besides, his judgement's been off for a while lately.
At first I was a little irate at the flat out lies and mischaracterizations the left is engaging in on Rush’s comments (and O’reilys earlier, and countless others before him).
But then it occurred to me how utterly bankrupt the left has become, excuse me, how utterly bankrupt the left remains in the “arena of ideas”, that they must continuously stoop to this level. And it’s sooo transparent to all but the most fanatical lemmings.
That’s all the elitist, America hating, power gluttons have, and isn’t it just so f’king pitiful and lame?!
ABC made it apparent who they were talking about. Obviously Rush didn't.

I had no idea who Jesse MacBeth was. I find for good reason. If you do a google search you will find that nearly all the articles on him(her)? are from right wing websites. I remember nothing on this person from liberal websites. I guess that is why I didn't know who it was. To tout this as some kind of liberal conspiracy is way past phony.
As I noted and has been noted elsewhere phony soldiers implies multiple but Rush says he was speaking of this Jesse person. He's a communicator. Like all on the radio he is under constant scrutiny, he knows how this is done. It was not an innocent mistake.
He said..and this to me is the most outrageous part...
what is the imperative for pulling out? What's in it for the United States to pull out? They can't -- I don't think they have an answer for that other than, "Well, we just gotta bring the troops home."...

Duh!? -This is proof from his mouth that he doesn't care about the troops. It bothers him not that they win every battle but are returned over and over and over again, wondering if they will ever return, families wondering if they will ever return. Nope in Rushs' words again:

First not everyone who is in the military at the start of the war or even today signed up to go to Iraq. That is blatantly false and a deceptive generalization. Again he is a "professional" so he knows what he is doing.
Finally, regardless of his show on this day he has repeatedly bashed a large number of service people and veterans.If you have to ask who you are so brainwashed or paying so little attention that you just ignore and live with your cognitive dissonance. At least half a dozen generals have spoken out against the war and one even retired to specifically do so. Want to know who? Do your research. You'll only believe it if you read it for yourself. Google generals against the war. Be careful coming back and smearing these military leaders though. You know that is sooooo unpatriotic
Rush is full of crap and it spews from his mouth and into your head everyday. The more you listen the more your head becomes a big crap holder.
Want to win this war, hate the surrender monkeys? THEN WIN THE DAMNED THING ALREADY. How long do you want the soldiers and US citizens to go through this hell? How much blood and treasure and failed tactics can you stand. How much do you REALLY care about the troops? Most of the country has had their fill.
Game: a side note, surely you realize that the military is made up of all kinds of people, good and bad. They are no different than the population they were pulled from and neither are their morals or attitudes. I live in a military town now and I can assure you that the military is far from universally supportive of this war.

These were two entirely seperate stories and Limpbowel is in no way exonerated the hateful way he attacked that soldier, any more than he was ever exonerated of guilt of his drug-addled viciousness toward Michael J. Fox.
These are just the latest examples of how neocons and their conservative brethren's everyday persecution on over half of America's population, the progressive half, have totally crystallized into an overpowering, potentially genocidal, baseless hatred.
