Alderman Says MPS Broken, Should Be Dismantled

If MPS is broken, tell me how to fix it? More social workers? More advocates? More excuses for a community and parents who expect MPS to be the caregiver? You can make every school a K-8 or "small" high school, but until the community that MPS students come from decide that they are ready to start living up to their responsibility as parents and citizens, any restructuring or tax increase will be wated.

GAME..I thought I wouldn't see the
end of MPS in my lifetime, now,I'm not so sure. The creation of small districts in the sections of the city seems like it will take place in the not so distant future.EXAMPLE:BAY VIEW district--
Bay View high school--Fritsche K/8-
and whatever number of elementary schools are needed in the cluster to meet enrollment requirements.(Dover..Tippecanoe..etc.)The district will hire their own principals, teachers, building staff
through their own school board. There will be one building kept for "alternative" education. The buildings in the district no longer needed will be sold.Sound far fetched? Maybe not.

That would be GREAT!!!
The good parents on the far south side could control their schools and not have to go to school with bad kids from the north side...they wouldn't have to leave MPS for the 'burbs...and they would be schools that would be fun to teach in...

This highlights much bigger issue with our kids, youth and culture. There are just too many people out there making babies without really knowing the true meaning of 'parents'!

And, some of the basics don't change: In order to succeed, you have to be hardworking and desciplined. If not, you have no chance.

Perhaps this explains why we are losing our well-paid jobs to immigrants!
