Code Pink defaces Berkeley military recruitment office

Here is how liberals "support the troops"

Don't question their patriotism! Just four star generals!

In no way do I defend these actions of Code Pink. In fact I detest them.

However, these actions have no relevance to their patriotism. Unless of course patriotism equates to support of Bush policies.

Clark? Batiste?

You might not want to let your crypto-patriotism override your own ass so early in proceedings, Jason.

Do you detest hash? Your ranks are filled with these kind of David Duke-like psychos these days.

Jason, maybe you need to stop playing hopscotch with your own multiple personalities ("I was a leftist, but then I became a free trader, but I'm really into democracy and against fascism, except when I need to bring it on at the point of a gun...so I'm a paleoliberal this week, along with being a neocon next month...) and on and on...some of us know who we are, know what is right and wrong, have lived real lives and learned from real experiences.

I assure you, for the last time, speaking for MYSELF and not the mythical, monolithic, collective "leftist" wall of horror that exist solely in the entertaining but exasperating and completely deluded fog banks of your imagination, that there is a VERY real possibility that I will opt out of the elections entirely, for ethical and spiritual reasons...

One day, perhaps you discover the same intellectual freedom and courage to reach out of your narrow box of loyalties and self-importance and accept the fact that your solitary vote may not, in adverse circumstances, be worth the price of your conscience.

I think you're wet behind the ears, you're shopping desperately for an add-water-and-stir ideology that you can latch onto, with loads of impressive philosophical inferences that you can build a solid identity on while maintaining some semblance of authenticity to whatever principles you truly hold dear.

Good luck with that, but I'm not sure anyone feels personally limited or oppressed by your presumptious judgements.

It really gets in the way of constructive, intelligent dialogue.

This is more about you rejecting my isolationist stance and me rejecting what I consider the free-trade scam and fighting terrorism by creating more terror.

Histrionics, slander, and race-baiting will do nothing to validate your cause, believe me.

hash--

You are a conspiratorial, paranoid, angry kook who scapegoats Jews.

Your claims that I'm a rigid ideologue, and that my beliefs are completely fluid, are in direct contradiction. I would say that my principles are the same-- I just realized I was hitting for the wrong team.

Do I believe in respect for women, an open society, consumer sovereignty, tolerance of homosexuals, liberal democracy, science, secularism, rule of law, technology, and individual autonomy? Yes.

However, today's left does not support these things. They think a minority of dark age religious fundamentalists have the right to overthrow elections with violence. They think the United States should never use military force in the name of good, lest we be unfair to evil. They think science and technology cause the rape of Mother Earth. They think popular demand is an expression of corporate brainwashing, rather than democracy. And everything is a sinister conspiracy to today's left-- they're not even happy about their own representatives. And the left feels it needs to tolerate everything and everyone, including disgusting national socialists like yourself.

I want no part of this.

I don't detest anybody. Well, OK, maybe Dick Cheney.

Just thought of another one: Sean Hannity.

"You are a conspiratorial, paranoid, angry kook who scapegoats Jews."

And you are a naive, sheltered, kumbaya-singing pseudo-intellectual who will not accept reality or the existence of the established order of the power elites in this world, so you have created an alternative ideal that simultaneously spells out package solutions yet require no consistency or legitimate, real-world processes that could ever remake the world in your idealized images.

"I just realized I was hitting for the wrong team."

That would be all fine and good, and even laudable-few men possess the capability to change their politics and admit to it openly-but what is missing is the synthesis of your new, passing fancy, to the goals and ideals of what you claim to have always espoused. They are (except, arguably, for the "free-trade" aspect) mutually exclusive.

You claim "leftist" credentials but, in fact, cracking some Chomsky and voting for John Kerry simply reveal you to have held, at worst, a moderate, crypto-neocon viewpoint that finds the Liebermans of the world acceptable, and, at worst, would put you somewhere in the legions of DLC lackeys.

That's not "the left", Jason.

"Do I believe in respect for women, an open society, consumer sovereignty, tolerance of homosexuals, liberal democracy, science, secularism, rule of law, technology, and individual autonomy? Yes."

All of which are vague, relativist labels which most intelligent humans would agree with, but have virtually nothing to do with the real issues that shape the world today...

Good, solid values, but not at all relevant or pertinent to the leadership we need to manifest.

"They think a minority of dark age religious fundamentalists have the right to overthrow elections with violence."

Again, you are pleading for your fear-mongering to resonate when it simply cannot.

Your goals of literally overthrowing, reshaping, and forcing predatory capitalism and replacement theocracy on ancient, established societies and cultures are a fool's errand, and most Americans oppose their coffers being raided for foolishness on behalf of others.

In chaos, you can steal.

"They think the United States should never use military force..."

Legitimate self-defense is one thing, but nation-building and blatant imperialism on behalf of foreign nations is quite another.

"in the name of good, lest we be unfair to evil."

Love those "secular values"....

"They think science and technology cause the rape of Mother Earth."

No, greed and predatory capitalism done in the name of science and technology cause the rape of Mother Earth.

"They think popular demand is an expression of corporate brainwashing, rather than democracy."

When the "popular demand" is manufactured and dessiminated by the corporatist media, yes.

"And everything is a sinister conspiracy to today's left-- they're not even happy about their own representatives."

Self-criticism was a virtue that Bonzo whipped out of his minions, and losing it hasn't done the GOP much good (any more than Bonzo himself).

I don't believe the right is capable of doing anything honestly anymore, without conspiring with anyone else.

Cronies, corruption, and conspiracy, the right wing's stock in trade.

"I want no part of this."

You're not qualified to be a part of anything.

"Patriots do not work against their countries. You are an useful idiot if you believe you are a patriot for giving comfort and aid to the enemy."

That's why you can count on taking a nice, extended "vacation" from the life you know now, fudgie, the minute conditions become favorable...

hashfanatic said...

Sure you will, fudgeleh, ROTFLMAO!

Now pay back what you stole.

Hash,

Come to Forest County, WI, and get paid in full.
