Liberals show their "patriotism"

To a liberal, bashing one's country and military really is being patriotic...so don't question their patriotism, and don't tell them they do not support the troops...

Pfft! I not only question their patriotism, but their sanity as well.

Satire is certainly wasted in this space.

Game,

I have a long write up on what the various folds in folding a US Flag mean. If you give me the permission, I'll post it. Maybe the libs, even Jim and Hash, might learn something.

Jim--

Where is the satire in implying people who enlist in the American military are idiots who will be weeded out of the gene pool through natural selection?

You find this shit funny?

Jim said...

Satire isn't always funny. Sometime it is provocative. Sometime it makes you think, encourages debate.

And sometimes it's just pretentious crap from chuckleheads with no clear grasp of reality.

Blah, Blah, Blah. You wouldn't listen to anything anyone that doesn't agree with you says or you would rationalize your way out of it so... Bite me...Blah, Blah, Blah..Grow up. When you can discuss like an adult you might actually find a solution. You would rather fight than solve a problem though. This blog gets more schoolyard everyday Game.

First of all, it is illogical for moonbats to encourage people to enlist to fight in what they think is the neocon imperialist Jew war machine. The left does everything to keep recruiters off schools, while advocating giving our enemies
pulpits to speak. If people move up in the military, they'll get called things like "General Betray Us." The demand to enlist from the left makes absolutely no sense, unless you understand that authenticity trumps truth in the leftist mind. Given a choice between a Roosevelt and a decorated war hero like Hitler, they'll take the decorated war hero.

Now, to zoom in to my personal life, I'm simply not going to take a pay cut to get bossed around by kids half my age.

I actually did talk to a Navy recruiter this summer when I was between jobs about going in as a nuke officer. This would work well with my physics degree -- when I would leave at age 34 I would be able to get a nice job with a corporation like Westinghouse. Unfortunately I'm almost 29 and am simply not young enough to meet their entrance requirements.

Knee jerk leftists like to say knee-jerk kind of things-- the predictable response is that I'm a coward. This betrays *your* gloom and doom outlook -- with less than 4,000 dead during the mission in Iraq, there's less than 1/1000 chance of me getting killed in the military.

I agree it would have been beneficial for me to enlist back in 1997 when I was of high school. However, my parents are both hardcore anti-war Democrats like yourself, and strongly encouraged me not to enlist. Aren't you proud your side got its way?

I know several people who have been in the military, and several people who used to be in the military. To intimate they're dumb people as in Ted Rall's sewage is completely out of bounds. Jim may find edification in calling our soldiers stupid-- this is not only disgusting, it is a bit tedious why I have to explain the inpropriety of this.

Well Ron, you don't add anything to it, so thanks for nothing

I never called anybody in the military stupid. Never. Ever.

This is your straw man. You guys post some weird arcane thing, and if we don't shit all over it, you claim that's what we think or support.

That plays well to people who have little capacity to reason, but it doesn't play to me or others with half a brain, as game would say.

I find this cartoon interesting, provocative. Never said it was funny. Never said it was true. Never said the author hated America either. I'll leave that to the ignorant and incurious.

Maybe you believe that the liberal ideas about the complex interplay between patriotism and nationalism in today's America can be summed up in a comic strip, but I think that's more reflective of your thinking process than mine.

What do Dem's believe?
From what I can put together...they think being patriotic means focusing on what is bad about American and bitching about it all the time, not thinking it is important to teach love of country in school or say the pledge...
