More proof of how we are at war with Islam.
We can pretend we are not at war, but they are still going to try and destroy anyone who does not conform to Muslim ideas and law.
It is happening all over the world. Anywhere there are enough Muslims they are at war with Christians.
It's a fact of life. We can run around calling it the religion of peace, and be wrong.
I don't know what it would take for some of us to realize what is going on...hopefully the Western world figures this out before it is too late.

Muslims tell Christians: 'Make peace with us or survival of world is at stake'

All religions have their problems, and while I agree that Islam does tend to be less tolerant of others, Christianity isn't a whole lot better.
Consider the current oppression the Christian community exerts over the LGBT community. If a religion wants to be called tolerant, it must be tolerant of all things, not just the issues that seem to leverage their position.
I don't know what that is...
But I bet that the Christian community is not going to blow up the LGBT
The Muslim scholars state: "As Muslims, we say to Christians that we are not against them and that Islam is not against them - so long as they do not wage war against Muslims on account of their religion, oppress them and drive them out of their homes."
Well, there you go.
And the neocons are doing exactly that, in my name, which is why I take such pains to declare that I cannot support it.
"Consider the current oppression the Christian community exerts over the LGBT community."
Well, it's not just the Christians, and there are varying degrees of oppressions.
Many of the Islamic countries out and out kill gays.
The Orthodox Jews shun them and stone their parades.
The fundamentalist cults try to brainwash them into going straight.
The mainline Protestants respect them on the surface, but many of the church members have a lot of unexpressed resentments, and this tears apart the congregations.
The Catholics accept a homosexual orientation, but they must remain celibate.
A pretty radical cross-section of attitudes and beliefs, yet any one of them could be interpreted as being oppressive, if you're in that situation...
I'd like to see the LGBT groups speak out more vociferously about the killings in the Islamic nations, but you probably won't see that because any protestation of Islamic behavior is seen by many as too close to the neocon "Islamofascist" hysteria in credibility, so, yet more people die needlessly.
Watch what happens in Turkey closely...
More proof of how we are at war with Islam.
Really, I didn't read it that way at all. Seems to me it simply said we should be at peace or we will be at war. Pretty simple, logical.
Game, maybe you need some LGBT.
game,
Anonymous is gay and what they want is endorsement of their lifestyle and banning of condemnation even if such prohibitions are tenets of a religion.
Also, anonymous wouldn't get anything but executed in Iran for LGBT.
Jim is a head in the sand Liberal. We are already at war, and fools like Jim refuse to recognize it in their terminal stupidity.
Hash is on the side of the Islamofascists because they want to destroy Israel like he does.
The main problem with this "invitation" is the invitation itself. They should be requesting an audience to end THEIR aggressive policies, not hope we will end our defense against them. As it all began with Muhammed's despotic reign of terror in his attempt to further his phoney religion, it should be recognized that those of today who pattern themselves after Muhammed's behaviors are the ones with whom these 138 signatories really need to be speaking.
Anonymous plays the moral equivalency card, but it doesn't wash. The Christian church doesn't preach "tolerance" as the word is used today. (Some do, but they're apostate) They teach devotion to God and His Will. On His terms, not ours. So those who are "oppressed" by Christianity today are those who act contrary to Scripture. These would include homosexuals, thieves, liars, murderers, adulterers, etc. Yet all are welcome to come to Christ and repent. In that manner, Christians are the most tolerant of people, but not so much their behavior. If this offends any homosexual readers, it's unfortunate, but true. I'm equally apologetic to thieves, liars, murderers, adulterers, etc. That is, sinners in general.
But back to the point, the Christian world has always worked for peace, the Muslim world not so much. That is to say, that if we want peace with them, it's always been their way or the highway. I don't want to pay the jizya or be a dhimmi or 2nd class to them in order to retain the peace. That is how it is spelled out in their holy book that peace with other religions should take place. No thanks.
And BTW, there is very little, if any, similarities between Christianity and Islam.
marshall art:
I contend that there are signifigant similarities between Christianity and Islam. Both preach the acceptance of their one, supreme god. Both condemn many of the same things (including those you listed.)
hashfanatic:
I never denied that Islam/Judaism/etc. do not exert their own intolerance of the homosexuality, simply that Christianity does it as well. Just because "they do it, too" does not make it right.
Marshall, this letter was not written by Osama bin Laden. It was written by scholars from all the leading Muslim sects. What aggressive policies do these scholars have?
First of all, for anonymous, such similarities are really superficial. It's much like saying you and I are significantly similar because we both have hair and breath. But a closer look will find that we are quite distinct. The same is true for Islam and Christianity.
For the Hashorama, please show or link to where I've expressed hatred for homos. Show me where I've persecuted or ridiculed this 2-5% of the population. Please show me where I've spoken disparagingly toward homos in any way other than to insist that homosex is sinful, unhealthy and harmful and that their arguments in favor are lame. This is not ridicule, this is not disparaging. This is debate and argument and I have every right to express my opinion and the call their advocates on their point of view and on their misconceptions and misleading statements. If you have a problem with it, tough. You show you lack the mental skills to understand plain English if view my opinions in such a way.
As to the rest of your rant, I got bored with your unsubstantiated crap long ago and ignore what you've already spewed too many times. Try supporting at least some of it for a change.
Jim,
They wrote the letter. It is that they have taken the liberal Democratic position that we are to blame for all the ills between us. As I've mentioned, this crap has been going on since Muhammed pretended to have revelations and everyone called him on his bullshit. They are the source of their own troubles for they, like so many lefties worldwide, prefer to give lip to the peaceful, tolerant westerners (namely us), than the assholes who are perpetrating all the hatred and murder and mayhem. As to aggressive policies, I'm not convinced when one Muslim claims Islam is peaceful while his brethren are hacking off heads for Allah. The aggressive policies come from their own prophet and are recorded in their holy books. Talk to them.
How very Christian of you Hashly. Exactly what kind of church do you attend?
No sir, you are the liar. You've accused me of things you cannot defend. And unless Game's put you on the payroll, I don't think you have any authority to tell me to go anywhere. You certainly don't have the muscle. So put it back in your pants and chill out. And until you can back up your comments with links or other sources, they can only rank as your opinion and are worth no more. But you know, you CAN do with me what I do with 90% of your drivel. Ignore it. Now why don't you get your blankie and some warm milk and relax. You're gonna hurt yourself.
"And until you can back up your comments with links or other sources, they can only rank as your opinion and are worth no more."
A million of my "opinions" is worth more than one "documented fact" from any of your Christ killer websites
(unless there are busloads of readers here that are anxious to hear Michael Medved explain how slavery really wasn't such a bad idea for Americans, anyway)...
Your MO is easy for even the most blinded wingnut to place. It has not escaped some posters' memory that your main objection to the savage wiener's program was not the content, but his demeanor and delivery style, which you feared would bring a negative impression
to conservatism's failing ideologies.
You are old, bitter, ignorant, a lousy parent, faithless, and a broken-down old wreck physically.
Far be it from YOU to tell me what I am capable and not capable of doing, and I aim to rip your flaming, hateful, self-loathing, wicked little rantings each and every time I come across them, for it is just the beginning of what vermin like you deserve.
You have coarsened the culture of this nation far enough already...
I'm sorry Hash, did you say something?
Egads, methinks one of the little poisonous mushrooms is learning how to behave himself!! :)
TheGame,
I just came across this site and agree with you entirely. It's good old fashioned common sense. Liberals want to put a spin on EVERYTHING...talk it to death until they actually make themselves believe the insanity of whatever point it is they THINK they're making. It's not the radical muslims, it's not the religion, it's that they're oppressed. Bin Laden and multiple other terrorists were not oppressed.... maybe not monetarily but FELT for others being oppressed??? What did they feel for the mentally disabled girl they strapped a bomb to? Did they want to send her to the 7 virgins? No, they're against gay relationships. I throw my hands up. Radical muslims are a threat to EVERYONE!!!
Anyway, just wanted to say good job.
