It will be Clinton vs Rudi.
Rudi will get hammered hard by the media, and they will make sure everyone knows his stances that are independent of the conservative base. The religious Right will either not vote for him, and not vote at all, or they will get a 3rd party nominee. Hillary will do what her husband did, which is not get near the 50% mark yet still win.
Sorry, it's what I think...

I'm not sure I disagree with you, but don't you think it's possible that it's a bit too early to predict this?
yes, its just what I think right now...
Game--
That's pretty much what I think too. Hillary is our next president-- the question is whether she wins in a landslide or not.
She can't win in a landslide, because no matter who she runs against she CAN NOT get 50 percent of the vote...Her husband was much more likeable, and he never got 50 percent.
I don't like either of 'em.
I think Thompson will eke out the GOP nomination.
I think Thompson will eke out the GOP nomination.
"I think Thompson will eke out the GOP nomination."
Then it is a landslide for Hillary, though Romney has better odds of winning the nomination than Thompson at this point. Thompson's candidacy initially showed a lot of promise. However, Thompson clearly does not have the juice. Thompson is inexperienced at running organizations, and really isn't interested in the job. I suspect his wife pushed him into it.
"I don't like either of 'em."
You guys make not like Hillary, but you'll support her over her rival. It is like the way you guys don't like Saddam Hussein, but supported leaving him in power.
Leftists posing as cynics is kind of like WWE wrestlers pretending to be tough. It goes with the territory-- if you guys were happy campers, you wouldn't slurp up vapid slogans about "change" and so forth.
GAME...Horrid Hillary???Bozo Bill??
In the oval office...again??? As a another cartoon character used to say...OH!!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
"You guys make not like Hillary, but you'll support her over her rival."
If I don't know that, how can you pretend to know that?
"It is like the way you guys don't like Saddam Hussein, but supported leaving him in power."
Actually, it's nothing like it.
Hussein killed a few of his own people for whatever reasons he may have had. Oddly enough, you and yours, when presented with the same problems he was, turned around and killed a million of his.
That's what I mean about bad choices, Jason. You're everywhere.
"if you guys were happy campers, you wouldn't slurp up vapid slogans about "change" and so forth."
"Project For The New American Century"?
"No Child's Behind Left?"
"Mission Accomplished?"
Your presumptuousness at trying to figure out the choices of total strangers and why is outmatched only by your complete incompetence at the task...
Your failed ideologies have yielded little but failure.
Scorpion, are you aware that, until you left your moronic, juvenile comment, this was actually an uncharacteristically viable thread?
Sorry Hash, you made some really stupid comments just now:
1. If I don't know that, how can you pretend to know that?
You WILL vote for whomever the Democrat is in Nov. 2008, period...just like I will vote for whomever the Republican is, period.
2. Hussein killed a few of his own people for whatever reasons he may have had. Oddly enough, you and yours, when presented with the same problems he was, turned around and killed a million of his.
Hash just said our military is more evil than Saddam...you might have actually been more negative to the military than Kerry, Murtha, Durbin and Biden...that is a tough task...well done.
old hash...it's only viable until you come on...old hash...don't put that teacup down so fast...old hash
"You WILL vote for whomever the Democrat is in Nov. 2008, period...just like I will vote for whomever the Republican is, period."
Wrongo, wiseass!
I may vote for the DemocratIC candidate.
I may vote for a non-DemocratIC candidate, or an independent candidate.
I may just sit this one out!
Again, if I haven't decided, how arrogant and foolish is it of you to try to predict how I or anyone else will ultimately vote, in such a race?
"...just like I will vote for whomever the Republican is, period."
You'd vote for a fossilized chimpanzee as long as it had a "R" stamped on its ass, because you are totally programmed, totally satisfied to be so, and your loyalties are to party, not to country.
"Hash just said our military is more evil than Saddam..."
Now, now, gameboy...don't be lying like your buddy Rush!
"...you might have actually been more negative to the military than Kerry, Murtha, Durbin and Biden..."
Not any one of those individuals was "negative to the military".
You are.
After all, you can't seem to stop wanting to kill more of them. And you can't seem to stop worshipping the military's true enemy.
You had the facts and CHOSE to believe the lies.
The folks listed above did not, and neither did I.
Oh, yeah. The administration really supports the troops. How come you didn't mention this:
1st Lt. Jon Anderson said he never expected to come home to this: A government refusing to pay education benefits he says he should have earned under the GI bill.
"It's pretty much a slap in the face," Anderson said. "I think it was a scheme to save money, personally. I think it was a leadership failure by the senior Washington leadership... once again failing the soldiers."
Anderson's orders, and the orders of 1,161 other Minnesota guard members, were written for 729 days.
Had they been written for 730 days, just one day more, the soldiers would receive those benefits to pay for school.
This is correct, Bill.
What about giving out 27 days because 28 would force the cheap bastards to pay their share of benefits?
The neocons TALK about patriotism incessantly but they don't really give a damn about the troops.
The Republicans don't pay their debts to the troops who are serving their interests...and, judging by the fact that the conditions at Walter Reade are STILL not corrected, they certainly never keep their promises.
They're too worried about paying Erik Prince.
"how can you pretend to know that?"
I'm not pretending. ALL of you kooks, and I mean ALL, *will* vote for Hillary when the chips are down. I know you guys better than you know yourselves.
"Your failed ideologies"
People in both parties are taking George Bush for granted. The economy is in outstanding shape, and Afghanistan and Iraq are now democracies.
If you want to see failure, look how the Clintons handled Rwanda, where 500,000 actually did die, in contrast to the phony numbers you're making up about Iraq. The left doesn't give a damn about their fellow man-- leftists only care about themselves.
"I know you guys better than you know yourselves."
Not really.
You've sold your ass to the wolves and I haven't.
Your variety of thought ignores every issue (or outright denies its existence) and my variety of thought not only addresses them, but provides a decisive course of action to completely address the issues to resolution.
Nobody has increased the size of government like George W. Bush, our economy is actually in shambles, and neither Afghanistan and Iraq are "democracies" any more than Israel is, regardless of your fever dreams.
They are now both radical Islamic tyrannies. You neocons have murdered almost four thousand American troops and over a million innocent, defenseless Iraqi civilians to bring "democracy" you don't even enjoy at home, to other sovereign nations, for benefit of still other foreign peoples, and corporate profit.
"If you want to see failure, look how the Clintons handled Rwanda, where 500,000 actually did die, in contrast to the phony numbers you're making up about Iraq."
And Prescott Bush funded the Nazis and World War II, and caused the death of millions in the Jewish Holocaust.
Getting tired of having the bloody ball of genocide tossed back to your rightful hand yet?
Or will you just deny it, like all else?
"The left doesn't give a damn about their fellow man-- leftists only care about themselves."
I don't know about your fantasy left, which is everyone who thinks like you, but I do know the left I know has a hell of a lot more compassion for human life, basic common decency, honesty, personal integrity, native intelligence, critical thought, and are far more attractive people.
I'm not sure if you consider those traits virtues, but I do.
I will never trust another neocon administration again.
hash--
You're a loon. You can't tell a democracy from a theocracy or a dictatorship, and that's the simple cause of all your conceptual problems about American foreign policy.
And yes, the Clintons did stand by while 500,000-1,000,000 Rwandans were massacred in 100 days. They stood by as 500,000 Iraqi children died under the sanctions against Saddam.
Hence, Bush deserves a lot of credit for doing good for human beings. You people support folks like the Clintons, reflections of yourselves: cynical people who care nothing except their selfish desires.
Prescott Bush did not cause the genocide against the Jews, something you'd like to see your fundie friends in the Middle East repeat. He did make business transactions in Germany with Fritz Thyssen before the war. Thyssen, however, was an opponent of Hitler's regime, so the innuendo here is silly.
"I do know the left I know has a hell of a lot more compassion for human life, basic common decency, honesty, personal integrity, native intelligence, critical thought,"
Again, the world isn't about little'ol you.
hash--
Before I leave for work --- Your argument reminds me of George Clooney. Sure, he's well liked, sharp looking, supposedly has a big heart, says the right things about peace and the children and so forth.
But when he talks about the fundie genocide in Sudan, for example, it is only a pose. The radical left opposes American intervention everywhere, and openly sides with the aims and ambitions of dictators and religious fundamentalists. Kevin Spacey, Danny Glover, Senn Penn etc. have all met with Hugo Chavez to denounce America and its role in the world. These rich, self-centered idiots take what we have in America for granted.
old hash...goofy George...old hash...I can only imagine...old hash...goofy George...old hash...
maybe you could invite goofy for tea...old hash...
"You're a loon. You can't tell a democracy from a theocracy or a dictatorship, and that's the simple cause of all your conceptual problems about American foreign policy."
I know enough to know that you are not a proponent of democracy, no matter how you continue to inject the term into irrelevant discussion. I know you are certainly willing to FOIST theocratic governments on other sovereign nations, CALL them democracies, and take credit for your programmers for installing them. And it frightens me to know that you have the capability of calling a police state a democracy, and arguing for even further stringencies against individual liberty, under guise of vague "nanny-statisms", false bogeymen, and manufactured terror storms.
"And yes, the Clintons did stand by while 500,000-1,000,000 Rwandans were massacred in 100 days. They stood by as 500,000 Iraqi children died under the sanctions against Saddam."
But did our American troops and Republican private mercenaries murder them, as they did exterminate over one million innocent Iraqi civilians under you neocons?
Even if the Clintons bear any responsibility for not stopping war crimes in Africa (ridiculous), are you not responsible, with your fair trade policies and insistence on dealing with Muslim warlords for mercantile purposes, for causing the conditions for genocide in the first place?
"You people support folks like the Clintons, reflections of yourselves.."
What a completely deluded, hate-ridden, fever-maddened little sockpoppet you are...
And you were provided with a proper education, no less. No excuse...
hash--
"for causing the conditions for genocide in the first place?"
I would say yes, categorically yes. Some people believe, correctly in my judgment, that blowback occurs when we actively support evil to obtain good aims. (We just disagree whether the cost is worth it given a stated goal, e.g. ending communism.) They fail to see that leaving dictators and theocrats to their own devices also comes with its own consequences.
Saddam Hussein, for example, trained 8,000 jihadists to fight in foreign wars, most of whom saw action in Algeria and Sudan, where 200,000 and 2,000,000 human beings died respectively. Hussein picked a fight with Iran and created an ugly situation where we had to choose sides-- and 1,500,000 people died in that war. And I haven't even started to describe what he did to his own people.
If you want to remove the root causes of terrorism in the modern world, that entails the removal of dictators in many, but not all, circumstances. Context matters. I'm certain you nuanced minds understand.
