Dems in debate urge taxes on wealthiest

It's nice to see them be honest about who they are.
They like to take away from the successful and punish them for that...
You must bring down the top closer to everyone else, that is all liberalism does.
It never pushes anyone up by giving them free handouts.

Time to walk the talk, my friend. What did a republican administration do in 7 years? Stop blaing the other side for everything. At least, they are honest and believe in it. It's better than saying onething and doing exactly the opposite!

Bush cut taxes...
Gee, that was simple...

bush added 4 trillion dollars to the national debt...

gee, that was simple.

And here I was, believing Jim that 99% of the left makes the other 1% looks bad. Thanks for clarifying that the left still believes the socialist agenda.

Probably it's simple for you!

What about spending? It's the overall fiscal responsibility that matters. Balanced budgets, smaller government, less tax and less spending - these are the ones a true conservative would look at...!!

I'm sure 9-11 had nothing to do with that...
And yes, Bush has not been a true fiscal conservative.

Of course Tax and Spend Democrats are absolved of any respoinsibility by the anonymous troll.

American,
That is what I look at...
I don't know if there are enough true conservatives in govt to have responsible spending.

I guess the point is that Dems will raise your taxes and spend out of control...
with republicans you can atleast hope.

Government will never be responsible in the spending of our money. Never has – never will.

There are many reasons for this, and sensible people are aware of the reasons.

The more money we give government, the more powerful and hungry it becomes.

so let's just keep cutting taxes and spending billions on the war until our treasury bonds are worthless and the chinese and arabs buy up everything.

yeah! that's the ticket!

Actually Bush has done worse when it comes to spending than previous democratic govt. (I'm not supporting Clinton govt either). So, you can't promise tax cuts without cutting down your spending. It would be a false hope. Let's not fall for the 'words' and 'promises' so fast.

Are we that stupid to let the other side of the world buy everything here? We certainly haven't been repaid for the assistance provided over the years......time to call in the payments for our aid an assistance...

anon--

National debt as a percentage of GDP is the same as it was in 1992. With the Republicans, it has been borrow and spend, yes. But the Congressional Democrats want to spend and spend, and spend, and spend. Defense is only 3.5% of the GDP -- it is the entitlement programs that are running out of control.

I agree the Bush has increased the size of govt, yes.

But consider this-- Democrats do not oppose Ted Kennedy's No Child Left Behind bill nor do they oppose the prescription drug benefit The Democrats support both policies; otherwise they would have axed them already.

In fact, the Democrats think NCLB requires MORE funding, and they're trying to expand government healthcare so Jason Bowden pays for the kids of some douche that makes 80K a year. THAT is bullshit.

anon, because tax and spend only hits the middle class, not George Soros, John Kerry, the Kennedy family, Warren Buffet...

PCD said...

anon, you are absurd. Show me where any of those Democrats pay more than 15% of their income in taxes and also tell me why their assets should be sheltered now and after their deaths from the taxman.

Anonymous said...

pcdummy, I can't show you their tax rates, can you? besides the point is that republicans don't want to shift the tax burden from the middle class to the wealthy. do they?

and i'm all for taxing estates of the very wealthy. contrary to republican claims, exemptions now allow most family farms and businesses to pass their assets without egregious taxes.

This nameless anon doesn't understand that the rich often make money through avenues such as dividends and capital gains. The income tax hurts people who are moving up the economic latter. The Dems say they want to give everyone opportunity, and then do their utmost to deny opportunity.

It is all about controlling other people to the left, through their holy Church, the State Almighty.

jh, you are full of s**t as usual. You are not making sense. democrats want to give tax relief to the middle class. democrats want to adjust the amt but the republicans block it. republicans want the wealthy to pay little if any taxes. republicans want to borrow from our children and grandchildren rather than pay taxes today.

Man, I was going to respond to that, but if you can't figure it out by now why bother
