The liberal slippary sloap: SF Considers a Tax on Sugary Drinks

I told you how this works.
Liberals have a goal in mind...
They know their goal would sound insane to most Americans.
So they take baby steps...they ban one thing at a time...
They tax one thing at a time...
Now they want to tax your coke.
Then your McDonald's
Then your Doritos

Okay, I'll trade you. We won't impose a tax on sugared sodas if you'll agree to ending corn subsudies, which is what makes sugared sodas, calorie-for-calorie, so much cheaper than healthier drinks.

Deal?

"if you'll agree to ending corn subsudies"

I agree. Sadly, the American public demands it, calling handouts to agribusiness giants "energy independence," "protecting American jobs," and "preserving our environment" (ethanol). I personally am an opponent of nationalism, and advocate energy *interdependence*.

Many conservatives want to eliminate such subsidies, Jay. "Fat" lot of good either will do to reduce the weight of kids with lousy parents. We restrict what our kids eat and drink and we didn't need to consider costs or taxes to do so. We just care about our kids' health.

Jay, how about ending all the subsidies and "Demostration Projects" that benefit Unions in trade?

How about taxing Rich Democrats who have in excess of $1Million in assets everything above that $1Million?

If you are not a lousy parent and if you restrict your kids what they eat and drink....why are you worried about tax on Sugary drinks? Let those 'fat' people pay tax for their bad choice!

What next? No tax on cigarettes?
