REID NOW SAYS IRAQ SURGE HAS HELPED

'...the surge certainly hasn't hurt. It's helped. I recognize that' --- Sen. Harry Reid, 12/21/07 '...this war is lost and that the surge is not accomplishing anything' -- Sen. Harry Reid, 4/19/07

What a slimeball...say whatever it takes to get elected...

Based on numbers, surge has definitely worked. I don't know what's the issue in admitting it. Dems need to stop spinning on it.

I'm glad that Bush finally woke up, sent Rumsefeld home and more troops to Iraq. Back in 2004 and 2005, republican attack dogs were attacking anyone who would ask for more troops!! I give credit to Bush for finaly doing the right stuff.

I guess things like this work when there are so many simple people in the world.
What he said for the last 5 years was what he thought was the best for the future of the Democratic Party, not America...
The surge WAS working when he said the war was lost...but after enough polls stating the American people don't agree with him, he is FORCED to "change his mind."

The Dems put all of their political eggs in the Iraq basket, which means they're going to be SOL when thousands of troops come home in 2008.

Now we'll be hearing about how they supported the surge before they opposed it. Or something like that.

Anyway, kudos to McCain, who is the only consistent one in this entire drama. McCain criticized Bush when it was unpopular to do so, and supported the surge when it also was unpopular to do so. I say this as a Rudy supporter.
