I may be hitting for the Democrats in 2008. Sorry guys.

If you hold conservative values you would never be able to vote for a Democrat no matter how bad the republican is.

I don't hold to values. I hold ideas. A value is like a preference-- do I like chocolate chip mint ice cream, or rocky road? An idea, in contrast, can be true or false. Our oughts have to be grounded in some way by an is.
For example, it is true NAFTA played a big role in the prosperity of the 1990s. Huckabee opposes free trade. Clinton has a record of supporting it.
Modern science explains more than medieval science. Clinton wants modern science taught in our schools; Huckabee wants medieval science taught as an alternative, as if your average American isn't braindead already.
I believe a tough-on-crime approach is the best way to keep our cities safe. The Clintons put thousands of the cops on the streets in the 1990s. Huckabee in contrast issues a pardon to every rapist and murderer who shouts "Jesus!"
Yeah, I'll go to bat to defeat this guy in the general election. I'm still sharply critical of managed competition in healthcare, but Huckabee and Clinton have almost identical positions on that issue. I'm not certain if I can get behind the sleazy trial lawyer or the Marxist professor yet-- I may have to stick to the Giant Douche (Huckabee) in those cases instead of eating the Turd Sandwich.
But Huckabee versus Clinton? Turd Sandwich all the way!
why is edwards sleazy? rudy was a trial lawyer. edwards was a consumer rights attorney.

Giuliani was a prosecutor. Edwards was a trial lawyer. Edwards doesn't do the kind of work Ralph Nader does. Edwards is an ambulance chaser, part of what's wrong with America.
Edwards is sleazy because he gains power by lying. This creep flourishes because he plays on the emotions of stupid people. He couldn't hold his own intellectually with Cheney during the debates-- he's a shallow candidate for shallow people.

Edwards is a shyster, pure and simple. Edwards tried to use campaign donations to engage in personal pleasures. I don't have to wonder how he'd plunder the US Treasury if elected.
