Some pro-abortion advocates use the embryonic stem cell debate to try and cheapen the life of a fetus or embryo.
They claim that embryonic stem cell research will cure every health problem known to man, even though not one single cure has ever even come close to coming from this research.
There have been other forms of stem cell research that have worked, but those are ignored because they do not further the pro-abortion agenda.
I think the embryonic stem cell debate is over, it is not needed...but scientific evidence and proof never stop some people...just look at the liberal religion of global warming.

but they are tossed out anyway, stem-cell research or no stem-cell research
Be it stem cell research or Global warming - Disgusting morons on both sides of political spectrum should leave it to scientists. I'm so tired of partisan hacks turnining everything into a political issue.
It's not a party issue, it's science, which would eventually benefit you, me and the whole society.
I am always citing science and pointing out how OTHERS use these issues for political gain. It's okay, I can walk you through this.
but they are tossed out anyway
"but they are tossed out anyway,"
Yes, and they needn't be. Many infertile couples looking to experience pregnancy. My thought is to leave them on ice until they can all be adopted. Chances are, a single couple, on average, will claim more than one for both growing a family and because they all won't be viable. Any tax money now going to baby killers, like Planned Parenthood, could support whatever lab is storing these embryos.
"I'm so tired of partisan hacks turnining everything into a political issue."
Standing up for the obvious fact that these are human lives is not an example of partisan hacks, but noble defenders of the most innocent and vulnerable of our kind. "Science" does not get a pass on respecting the God-given right to life that our founders considered unassailable.
Game,
Unfortunately, the debate is NOT over. As dead an end as embryonic stem cell research has thus far proven to be, scientists will continue to coldly look at any avenue that attracts their attention. There is still researchable knowledge to be gained by continuing, and they believe staying outside matters of ethics, morality, right/wrong is what their field demands. It is up to us, through the election of good men and women of conscience to reign them in and TELL them when, where, and what is acceptable.
You are citing science only to defend your political agenda. Remember - there is science on the other side of the arguement as well.
Well, when you are honest about issues, you will get it...!
american,
I'm not sure to whom and of what your last comments refer.
