When I lived in Hawaii someone told me that NOW was the time to buy gold and I believed it. I should have bought it, I wanted to buy it.
Problem: I had not money
Lets see...
When I moved to Hawaii gold was $266 an ounce.
Today...$874

Well - remember one thing - It's not the gold appreciating. It's your dollars going down. In other words, your savings (in cash) and salary are going down in value!
You may want to cnvert some of your dollars into euros, if not gold.
GAME....A GREAT TEACHER such as your self works many jobs to live paycheck to paycheck. You can't expect to have a portfolio or a stash of gold and silver on what society will set your salary scale at.Thank you for what you continue to do for the kids who do take advantage of your expertise.
Game,
"If IFs and BUTs were candies and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas."
I can go you one better. In 1989, we got money from a resettlement of a car accident we had. We were living in Omaha and they have a neat deal on Nebraska Day. You can buy stock at no commission. I wanted to buy 1 share of Berkshire Hathaway that was selling at $1000 per share. In 1994 or 1995, when I looked back, that one share was worth $66,000. I gave my wife Hell for being such a stick in the mud. What I didn't recognize is the beginning of her HDS, (Husband Derangement Syndrome). That wife is now an ex-wife, and a perfect example of what to do with the Democrats.
PCD,
"buy 1 share of Berkshire Hathaway .." haa ha - too bad that you didn't buy. I hope you did invest in Apple or Google or even gramin. Trust me - I know it first hand! ;-)
I buy Vanguard index funds now.
