Compare the two situations.
More than once in WI, entire communities have been destroyed by tornadoes.
People get together and take care of things. Within a year new houses are up, people work hard to rebuilt their community.
Then look at Katrina. People get on TV and cry that the govt isn't doing enough. People wait for someone else to clean up their neighborhood. They have no expectation on themselves to take care of their own lives. Why? Because that is how they were raised, that is what the govt has done to them. They really don't own anything, the community is not theirs, nothing is really theirs, because the govt GAVE IT TO THEM.
So why should they start working for themselves now.
I understand Katrina is destruction on a much bigger scale.
Well, I think the time between Katrina has been proportionately long enough that they should have gotten their act together by now.
So when I say we have created a permanent underclass because of failed liberal social programs that is what I am talking about.
Or maybe we should keep giving free housing to people with big screen TVs.

how, game?
and why should they devote their energies toward rebuilding a community that will only be allowed to again flood out, anyway?
you're way off here. it would be one thing if there were communities and home depots and such to help rebuild. but this is a mass disaster. what if green bay had been destroyed? would it have been rebuilt by now?
So because the home improvement and hardware stores in New Orleans were wiped out, that mean they can't go to where there are stores still standing? And quite frankly, there still is a community there. That would be the people who live there. Yeah, it's a big job and no one would argue that. But the question is does one get busy, or just sit on one's ass awaiting the government to fix things. What would YOU do?
I can't believe that you are sitting here comparing Katrina to Tornado cleanup in Wisconsin.
We're not. We're comparing the response of two peoples to their respective disasters.
