Praise for a dictator who allows no freedom for his people and has the government run their lives...I guess that makes sense. That is what the Democratic Party is trying to do here. Castro gone= a sad day for liberals.

lifted from your source, text of the cnn memo:
"Please note Fidel did bring social reforms to Cuba -- namely free education and universal health care, and racial integration -- in addition to being criticized for oppressing human rights and freedom of speech.
While despised by some, he is seen as a revolutionary hero, especially with leftists in Latin America, for standing up to the United States."
what about this is untrue, inaccurate, or unfair? i believe it's called "fair and balanced". obviously fox news only blows fair and balanced out their asses.
Oh, really? I guess, FNC tabloid should better stay with 'body language' crap and 'entertainment' kinda news they cover ....instead of commenting on CNN. I would pick CNN over FNC and MSNBC on any given day when it comes fair coverage!
For anon,
They weren't reporting on what leftists around the world think, they were adjusting what they WERE saying on behalf of the leftists of the world. That's called "SLANT". If Castro's an a-hole, he should only be described as an a-hole by the media. Incidently, his version of universal health care is a far cry from what libs in this country think it is. Cuba is a place John Edwards would be credible talking about "two Cubas". There's one that is shown to the world to deflect criticism and to make Fidel seem saintly, and there's the Cuba that most Cubans must endure including shoddy medical care. When do you hear CNN speaking on these things? Ever? I think not.
there is nothing whatsoever here to indicate that cnn did not also point out the negatives of 50 years of castro.
"If Castro's an a-hole, he should only be described as an a-hole by the media."
huh?
george w. bush is an a-hole, but the media gives him credit where credit is due (when they can find it). they're all falling in line that the surge is working, etc. he's gotten MORE than the benefit of the doubt for more that 7 years.
to report on 50 years of cuba and NOT report the things i have quoted above, is SLANTED, unbalanced, and unfair. right from the fox news playbook.
The mere fact that some of you feel the need to defend Castro speaks volumes for the left in this country. You’ve either fallen for the propaganda or you’re pushing the propaganda.
Does the fact that approx. 98.6% of all former Cubans living in this country being against Castro and his regime mean nothing to you people?
You jacklegs, speaking of Castro’s so called universal health care, free education, etc. are pushing a painted picture and ignoring the realities of the country. Of course that’s what lefties do the best. You remind me of people who used to defend Hitler, “he wasn’t all that bad”, because he enabled the “folksvagon” to be mass produced and accessible to the “common folk”.
The fact that he may be seen as a revolutionary hero among Latin American countries just goes to show the power of state run propaganda. DipWads that paint him as a hero in our country are doing nothing but lending credibility to that which is not credible.
You really ought to be a little deeper and much less susceptible.
exactly...and having someone like obama will bring us closer to cuba...watch as your healthcare gets worse
sorry to say, blamin' but you are simply full of it.
"The mere fact that some of you feel the need to defend Castro". I haven't read one word here by anyone defending castro. we are defending cnn against your ignorant smears.
sure game, obama will turn us into another cuba.
Did I say that...check again
I said closer to...which is a fact.
Some liberals like Michael Moore praise castro's "Universal health care" which is what Obama wants...
And anyone who knows better understands that universal health care simply makes it worse or the majority so a few who didn't have it can now enjoy the same crap that the govt is forcing everyone to have...
Taxes and govt programs...closer to Cuba...Castro controlled everything, the more we are taxes, the more regulations put on business, the more govt takes over more and more aspects of our lives with more and more programs the closer we get to socialism...which doesn't work ANYWHERE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD
"george w. bush is an a-hole..."
This is a totally subjective personal opinion based on nothing substantive whatsoever. Fidel being an a-hole is based on the testimonies of thousands, if not millions, of Cubans, refugees or otherwise. In support I submit the following, TheRealCuba.
