The liberal PC world goes after a 5th grade girl

Here is another example of the PC world taking all common sense out, and brining intolerant stupidity in.
5th graders at Whales elementary school were passing out Valentine's Day cards in the morning...yet in the afternoon the teacher asked the kids if any cards had a religious message on them.
A girl raised her hand, because her cards said something like: God loves you.
The teacher demanded that all the kids bring up the offensive cards to be thrown away immediately, and the girl stood infront of everyone and cried.
To a PC liberal teacher, a student giving another student something that says, "God loves you" is very, very offensive and must be stopped before our entire culture falls apart.
This was not the school telling everyone something about religion...
So what now?
I think kids should not be allowed to talk to eachother in school because someone might sneeze and another student might say, GOD BLESS YOU....
Can you imagine how offensive that would be!!!!
What the PC liberals do to our society and culture is embarrassing and shameful.

i don't think there is anything at all liberal about this. i have no objection to the cards and i can't think of any liberal who would EVER object to these cards.

i actually suspect something here is not what it seems to the point of even guessing it might be a wing nut set up.

i simply don't believe this happened the way it's presented.

Which side tries to take God or anything religious out of any public setting, ESPECIALLY public schools...its not the Right pal

But this is what liberals do...they fight to take Christmas and Santa and anything that might offend one person out of 200000, but when you call them on it and show how terrible their policies and thought process really is, they just say, "I don't think that and neither do other liberals"

Isolated incidents don't represent all liberals. Same thing is true with conservatives as well...

"Which side tries to take God or anything religious out of any public setting"

nobody. this is a patently false assertion. nobody is trying to take religion out of any public setting. it simply isn't true.

your example is the act of an overly zealous idiot and does not reflect the thinking or policy of anybody I've ever heard of.

Anon, is either lying or is posting from a basement. Ever hear of the Freedom From Religion group in Madison? Ever hear of that idiot Guyer who goes on O'Reilly to state her group's belief that GOD should be banned from the public and anyone who mentions GOD should be jailed or locked in a mental ward?

This teacher should be fired immediately.

pcdummy...none of the above. i read newspapers, watch cable tv news including fox, and read a number of blogs.

i've never heard of either of the two you mentioned and that's the point. neither has anybody else except newsmax and newbluster. nobody cares about these groups because NOBODY agrees with them including the courts.

Yeah, and did you ever hear about that "God Hates Fags" guy? He represents the entire spectrum of conservatives, right? Because Game sure likes to take every wacko on the left and claim that they speak for all liberals, so, I am going to do the the same thing about the far right lunatics like the guys who celebrate at soldiers funerals because they see it as God's revenge on our wicked sinful lifestyles.

But I'm sure how you can explain how thats different, somehow...

Anonynous, it is the liberal leaning teachers and parents who have objected to the Pledge of Allegiance being said at our school. Why? Not only because of their objection to the fact that legislation mandates it (this makes me wonder why they are actively supporting a candidate like Obama given his admittance to wanting to grow government - but that's another beehive to knock out of the tree) but because of the reference to God. No, I am not categorizing this thinking to all liberals, it just seems to me that those who find things offensive and want to censor ideas from the rest of the population are those folks who lean to the left in their thinking. It leaves me scratching my head why I, who considers myself an evangelical, conservative Christian, is labeled the insensitive one in the room...
By the way...I am a parent of a child at the elementary in question...and yes, there is an intolerance to Christian references depending on the teacher in the classroom. My child's teacher is a very active Christian with a strong faith. I haven't heard exactly what transpired because my child is younger but you can bet I will be keeping my ears open. You are right on one point, the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle of details that are reported. I will wait to hear the facts.

Are you kidding? Where have you been hiding? The Freedom from Religion nazis have been all over the news, locally and nationally. Their sole focus is to keep God out of EVERYTHING. However, if there was a group who was just as vocal against Muslims, they would have the ACLU already filing a discrimination lawsuit.

chris, not surprisingly, you conflate "public" with government. there is a difference. a lot of people including myself (a church-attending christian who plays in the church band) wish to keep the government and its buildings and public schools secular. i also don't believe "under god" belongs in the pledge.

however, i have no wish to eliminate god or religion from the public sphere. i am active at church events around town, at shopping centers, public parks and parades downtown. totally appropriate.

so you're wrong. no more are there "nazis" wanting to keep religion out of everything than there are "nazis" who demand that it be everywhere.

I am a liberal and also have no objection to this. I wouldn't want to put God in the public forum though. Barack Hussein Obama may be president someday and insist on turning us all into Muslims!~ Not really but there is a good reason for separation of church and state. Call me what ever you want. If you are to young or stupid to see why it's not my fault.

Actually when I said public I meant Government...like the person above said. A girl with a valentine not given to her by the government and not read aloud to all doesn't qualify for banishment. Personally I am not religious. I am quite spiritual though. It says you shall have no other Gods before me. Hence I don't worship Christ or Mohammed et al. Just God. I know there are theological arguments there. Save your time. I already know them. I have seriously thought about this and came to my decision after much consideration. I could be wrong though so I never insist people agree with me. God bless all.

I just think it's funny that people think the Kettle Moraine School District is liberal. I used to teach there. I was sooooo alone on the left side of the table ...

Interested to know why you would leave there to teach where you do now
