An interesting thing happened during MSNBC's coverage of Tuesday's primaries: Keith Olbermann humiliated Chris Matthews as studio employees laughed in the background (video after the jump).
As the campaign coverage waned late into the evening, Matthews was interviewing Barack Obama supporter Kirk Watson (D), and was trying to get the Texas state senator to list some of the Illinois senator's legislative accomplishments.
Unfortunately, no matter how many times Matthews asked Watson to name something of importance Obama has done since getting elected to the Senate in November 2004, Watson refused, leading to a very indignant "Hardball" host :
MATTHEWS: Can you name anything he's accomplished as a congressman?
WATSON: No, I'm not going to be able to do that tonight.
MATTHEWS: Well that's a problem isn't it?
WATSON: Well, no, I don't think it is. Because I think one of the things that Senator Obama does is he inspires. He's able to lay out a vision, he's able to lay out solutions.

Wow, I thought you people on the right liked people who didn't legislate to much.
It's not about that for most. It's about who wants to do what is best for the nation. It's down to that basic now. Many people don't think America has lived up to the standards that we set for ourselves. That must change.
I agree with the end of your comment, but the "change" I am looking for is not for my taxes to go up and health care to get worse so the government can create millions and millions more people that are unable to take care of themselves.
At some point, even you have to get sick and tired of your money going to more and more and more deadbeats.
"Wow, I thought you people on the right liked people who didn't legislate to much."
Jeez, Ron. This is not a matter of legislating too much or too little. It's a matter of legislating at all. What the hell has this guy done that justifies the constant ejaculations? We already know what he's gonna do as president, and it doesn't requre him specifically since it mirrors what most Dems would do. His fame is based on nothing tangible, nothing anyone can describe that isn't rhetoric or marketing. He offers nothing new, he only says he does.
I should run for President -- I can clearly defeat Obama.
While Obama promises everyone more government programs and lower taxes, a smaller military and world peace, free love and stronger families, I have him beat. If you elect Jason Hamilton Bowden as the President of the United States, cancer will be cured, humans will invent warp drive, everyone will drive a Jaguar, and our rivers will flow with milk chocolate. THAT is the kind of "change" **I** support.
If you think a lot of people are fainting at Obama's rallies, you haven't seen nothin' yet.

i don't understand this argument
why are you (all) obsessed with the idea of keeping your fed taxes down, when you always have to pay it out on state, local, and, most importantly, property taxes?
i'm temporarily ignoring the obvious issue of republicans spending us, like drunken sailors, into unprecedented debt with their unnecessary wars, worldwide, and corporate welfare for multinational corporations that can well take care of themselves
what is the advantage to saving on your taxes vs forking it out on higher property taxes, escalating prices, and a dollar worth less than ever?
"why are you (all) obsessed with the idea of keeping your fed taxes down, when you always have to pay it out on state, local, and, most importantly, property taxes?"
1) Accountability. It is a lot easier to speak with someone on the village board than it is to Comrade Durbin. 2) Diversity -- conservatives like to allow states and localities to do different things different ways. We respect minority opinions. 3) Innovation -- states and localities can't experiment with different ideas if everyone is forced into another nationalist universal comprehensive plan.
You guys really don't get it do you?
Is he Bush? No. Is he the one that is farthest away from Bushs policies? Yes. Choice made.
Many people can not stand another day of this crap. Nothing could be worse than continuing our present course. Certainly you disagree. I'm just trying to help you understand what is behind much of it. I am sure many Obama supporters could give you many reasons beyond what you post here.
I was for Edwards. I voted for Edwards even though he had already suspended his campaign. That's how crazy I am. I'm so freakin crazy that my last choice would be to continue our present course. My estimation is that would be the riskiest thing we could do.
I am not an Obamamaniac. I like a lot of his direction. Will he do it when he gets in office? I trust few. I don't know if it will be a success or a disaster but I know that anybody pushing the present course is promising disaster. I've seen it with my own eyes. Don't tell me it doesn't exist.
Now I already know you adamantly disagree but I am trying to give you a better idea what you are fighting. Made up issues aren't going to work this year. Be it a John McCain affair or a Michelle Obama america hater.
People on both sides see things as very serious right now, on all fronts. They are both going to have to give their vision for America because that is what people are after. We need to reclaim our identity.
Jason, as far as keeping it local. I basically agree with you. Some common things are worthy of being coordinated nationally in my book but keeping it local and in the rhelm of community is usually a far better deal and should be done to the extent that it is reasonable.
I would also like to see them keep businesses in check. I think this country would be far better off with 4 walmarts than 1.
I think small businesses should get the bulk of the tax advantages. As they grown they recieve fewer until when they become multi national they lose the chance to consider themselves a fully United States company.
Now, it would be a reasonable argument that you would make to say. "Well, you are making a penalty for businesses to grow".
True. What is also true is I am encouraging more local businesses with local ownership and local people working there. That has a lot to do with my vision of the American dream.
