Democrats slam Bush on gloomy jobs report

Okay, economy is slowing down...
Can the Dems point out the specific policies of GWB that have slowed down the economy?
Can they list the policies they would have done differently to not slow down the economy and the natural high and low points in an economy?
Just a hint: Raising taxes does not help the economy

Here is one - Iraq war and uncontrolled spending that followed.

Another hint: Mindless spending (and printing dollars to support it) doesn't help the economy either!

"Iraq war and uncontrolled spending that followed."

What a lame argument. Military is only 4% of our GDP, compared to 6% under Reagan, 10% in Vietnam, 14% in Korea, and 40%+ in WWII.

I agree that Medicare and Social(ist) Security have literally TRILLIONS in unfunded liability, and that these programs are a blackhole that will eventually swallow up the entire economy. However, the Dems want to *expand* govt programs (e.g. Pelosi and S-Chip). To blame govt spending under Bush for the slowing economy while pimping candidates that want the State to take over entire sectors like healthcare and energy is *completely* illogical.

But then again, who needs logic when you have the audacity of hope?

you are wrong on social security, of course. i won't go into details because you can find them on the social security site itself.

the cost of the war is not included in the military budget, so that's a bogus argument. furthermore, there is more to the cost of the war than simply what's spent in iraq. 2-3 trillion dollars is the current estimate, and that's almost a third of our current national debt.

and then to cut taxes for the wealthy? wow! that makes sense!

Things like this can go in cycles, but a few things like how foreign trade is handled can totally impact jobs. Another thing, like taxation, can also negatively affect job creation as business pays taxes rather than expanding and hiring. But hey, everything is Bush's fault, isn't it?

way to get that class warfare in there...way to be a good little liberal...
So, any household making over 90K a year, you are rich

oh yeah, way to get the class warfare dig in yourself, game! it has nothing to do with class warfare. it has to do with figuring out a way to slow the pace of growing debt and interest payments without undue burden on those who can afford it the least.

who said anything about $90k?

On the military, you're quibbling over percentage points. Even with the fight for democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan, nuclear weapons research, Veterans affairs, etc. the number is not much above 6% of the GDP.

In contrast, the total unfunded liability of Medicare, to take an example, is over 70 TRILLION dollars. That makes the 15 trillion in unfunded liability for Socialist Security seem like small potatoes. And you morons want to add more to this, and then illogically link government spending with a slowing economy.

Hello? Anybody home?

Now, you may be correct that government spending is a drag on the economy, but that notion would be a complete repudiation of Keynesianism, idiots like Paul Krugman, and the Goliath known as the welfare state.

Socialist stupidity has no limits. I can't stand how stupid you people are.

Here's the real reason, the rise in the minimum wage. Democrats always cause recessions with it.

Your opinion and faaaaaar from fact.
I'm all for class warfare. It's about time somebody stopped robbing from the poor and middle to give to the rich.//Looks like I am at war with pcd..hopefully it will be a battle of intelligence. I win hands down on that one although I am sure he will have some mindless blather to reply with that he imagines is intelligent.
