One year ago, liberal journalists depicted the surge of U.S. troops to Iraq as a certain failure. “A lot of people are going to go to bed tonight terrified,” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews opined just minutes after President Bush announced the policy on January 10, 2007. Other journalists were only slightly more subtle. “Many experts warn, it’s too little, too late,” NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski argued on the January 8, 2007 Nightly News. The next morning on NBC’s Today, the network’s graphic describing Iraq was “Lost Cause?”
At the same time, leading Democrats left themselves no wiggle room as they, too, denounced the surge. Senator Barack Obama called it “wrong-headed” and countered with a proposal to pull nearly all U.S. troops out of Iraq by March 2008. Senator Hillary Clinton came back from a quick trip to Iraq to declare: “I am opposed to this escalation,” while another Democratic candidate, Senator Joe Biden, blasted the troop surge as “a tragic mistake.”
That right there should make you question Dems ability to understand and make correct decisions when it comes to the war on terror. They simply don't get it...we do not need them to turn Iraq into Vietnam

Just looking at the chart, the war looks way to hard in March...they would have gave up quick and not done what it takes to gain success...
1. show a direct correlation between the surge and lower levels of violence in iraq.
2. tv news should not report us deaths?
3. how many respected us military leaders and republicans ALSO spoke out against the surge?
4. obama gets the war on terror and understood that it wasn't and still isn't about iraq.
I'm not done laughing at your response yet, when I am done I'll respond
laugh all you want. it'll just give you more gas. ;-)
But, but, Democrats support the troops! Uh, um, the media is Rethuglican! Really! /s
try making sense, jason. ;-)
of course dems support the troops. always have.
The Dems support the troops the same way they support freedom of speech---on their terms. And Obama doesn't get the war any more than any other lefty does.
Democrats support the troops in the same way Benedict Arnold did.
We are making business with Vietnam and more and more americans visiting the country (for whatever reasons!!).
American?
Of course we’re making business with Vietnam, and more and more Americans are visiting the country! We had a lasting, positive effect. The Vietnamese were actually there during the Tet offensive, they saw what happened, didn’t need American puppet/media masters to feed them what to think. They were in contact with Americans on a regular basis. What the hell do you expect?
Of course we left in shame (thanks in a large part to the p/m masters). But our legacy has lived on. The people of Vietnam are fully aware of the best ways to succeed and self-govern.
It’s amazing how even in our supposed defeat, we have such a lasting and positive affect on people we come into contact with.
