Iwo Jima Veterans Blast Time's 'Special Environmental Issue' Cover

Everyone should be outraged, or just shake your head at the crazy environmentalist crazies again...

Anyone who would think what we did at Iwo Jima, WWII or any military victory is parallel with "global warming" has drank kool-aid while wearing the tin foil hat...

It shows how out of touch and silly these people are...

come ON, game. this is BEYOND stupid, even for this blog.

it's a non-issue. it's a photograph. it's appropriate for the subject. it insults no one. if fact given the subject, i would say it honors those who fought at iwo jima and raised the flag because of the importance of the fight.

utterly indefensible attack on the magazine.

utterly indefensible attack on the magazine

Unless you consider it “indefensible” to support as fact, flawed scientific methods with questionable results.

Unless you consider it “indefensible” to needlessly alarm and deceive millions of people.

Unless you consider it “indefensible” to support spending billions of our money, not to mention manpower, on questionable projects with questionable results.

Unless you consider it “indefensible” to support charlatans who are doing nothing more than a power-grab.

Unless you consider it “indefensible” to attack a magazine that is nothing more than a propaganda organ for socialist, that within their own pages has admitted they’re biased and incapable of even trying to present a balanced news report. (all for the “greater good” don’t ya know!)

Well done once again.

I'm not outraged by the image.

I do find it revealing Global Warming proponents see their mission as a war. If so, who or what is the enemy?

(A: modernity, industrialization, technology, capitalism, materialism, etc)

"non-issue"? Talk about "beyond stupid"! The damned article shows that it is indeed an issue for the very people for whom it is without a doubt an issue! The vets who fought to raise that flag! It's also an issue for those who respect the efforts and sacrifices of those men, and it's an issue for those who are tired of the hype and alarmism of the MMGW ruse. Obviously, anon doesn't possess the smarts and/or sensitivity to understand any of this.

keep stroking yourselves. the issue is the picture, not whether or not you believe in global warming. we already know you are deniers.

and i guess even talking about global warming is biased now, eh?

just about every major corporation in america and pretty much the rest of the world recognizes that thinking and operating green make good business sense and are acting accordingly.

why is newt making global warming commercials?

”just about every major corporation in (A!)america and pretty much the rest of the world recognizes that thinking and operating green make good business sense and are acting accordingly.”

Well – there you have it! What more do you simpletons need?

Could it be that certain corporations are jumping on the bandwagon because it’s politically expedient? Naa, that couldn’t be the case, it must be because of the unquestionable scientific evidence that sways their decisions!

Yaa - that's the ticket!!!

I love how the lockstep left casts anyone not goose-stepping in their parade a denier.

Call me a skeptic. Way too much money at stake for way too little evidence. It makes sense to "go green". It does not make sense to further constrain people with no solid data to back it up. After all when has any vision of the future ever been accurate?

If veterans of Iwo Jima do not like it...those who were lucky enough not to be there ought to be able to figure out why they don't like it...called common sense...

keep stroking yourself, blamin'. not "certain corporations." MANY corporations. they're doing it because they know they can save money, be better corporate citizens, and preserve quality of life for their children and grandchildren (who are also stockholders).

i give you "ahnuld" on fox and friends:

Schwarzenegger: Well, I think they know the reality. I think they’re just trying to protect business. And in the end, they’re hurting business. Because we’ve proven in California that you can do both, that you can protect the environment and protect business. Even though in 2003, when I ran and I said that, people didn’t believe it but then we started building the ‘Hydrogen Highway’ and passed the Green Building Initiative and the Million Solar Roof Initiative and the Ocean Action Plan and AB32 to make a commitment to roll back our greenhouse gas emissions and the low carbon fuel standards, all of those things that got world recognition, I think people realize now, ‘wait, this does not hurt our economy, this is actually a big plus’ because we’re creating jobs through green, clean technology.

That's twice anon mentioned "stroking". He should find himself a girl.

We are aware the issue is the picture. Try reading the comments. The only mention of MMGW was in the context of them using the picture commemorating an historic and courageous event and imagining some so-called "war" on GW is in any way synonomous.

As to what businesses are doing, "going green" doesn't mean they believe the hype, only that they acknowledge a lot of people do and conform their business practices accordingly to attract consumers and maintain or increase market share. That jobs are created isn't surprising. Consumer driven changes tend to do that. And to say that these changes in business practices saves the environment is questionable seeing as how there is no solid evidence that it was being destroyed in the manner MMGW proponents claimed. Only speculation based on incomplete computer models.

yup, sure thing, ma.

oh, what a ridiculous debate, in this day and age, with the problems we face, over a magazine cover, of all things
