Media bias covering documentaries

I find it interesting the way newspaper movie critics attack Ben Stein's documentary "Expelled" as full of lies and propaganda...yet they give awards to movies proven to be full of lies and propaganda (even to the point where judges demand teachers tell students about all the incorrect information) like anything done by Michael Moore or algore.

I have no idea how accurate Expelled is, but even if it is full of crap, it will be the first time the NYTimes correctly calls out a BS documentary.
Maybe it's because the liberal writers LOVE movies going after Bush and global warming, but are outraged to see a movie saying evolution might not be as solid of a scientific theory as we once thought.
How many "facts" in algores crappy global warming movie have been proven 100% false...to the point of them being flat out lies? Was it 9???
And THAT wins the Nobel peace prize and an Oscar...
The media bias is clear as day, these writers ability to not put their personal feelings and emotions to the side is shown here, its more obvious here than in many news stories...but they can't help it. They are going to see things their way and write them from their perspective.
To these liberals, "Expelled" is pure crap...but other movies that share their values are critically acclaimed, even though they have been proven to be shams...
I guess to these liberals, facts don't need to be accurate, they just have to sound and look good in a movie.

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2007)
No intelligence allowed in 'Expelled'
‘Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed' 1 star

You have a valid point here. What you see is 'party loyalists' in action! Is it bias? Sure, it is. Sometimes I wonder if it is possible to get truly 'fair and balanced' coverage on any issues in this country! It's like a whole bunch of robots getting their talking points and instructions from moveon.org or radio talkshow hosts.

As much as I believe in green technology and cleaner environment, there is no doubt that Al Gore is hyping it up. And, 'party loyalist' dems are treating him like 'God'! You see the same repulsive crowd of 'loyalists' from Republican side as well!

When do these 'robots' grow up?

What exactly are you advocating, game? An affirmative action program for stupid?

I agree with you 100% about Michael Moore and the Goracle. However, Ben Stein is in the same category.

wow, the entire world is wrong and the deniers are right. oscar-winning documentary? ho-hum. nobel prize? yawn. respected the world over for bringing attention to possibly the most important issue of the century? bfd.

and yet, game knows better, and displays his all-knowing power by making fun of his name.

is ben stein's movie a comedy? i didn't think so. did you know that "theory" does not mean "guess". look up the word.

i can't tell if your problem is ignorance, stubbornness, or if you are a evo-terrorist. i'm astounded at your willingness to believe anything known liars like bush, cheney, and rice say and your unwillingness to accept science.

are their inaccuracies in vice-president gore's movie? possibly. are they lies? prove it.

it has been proven as crap and the fact you think it is the most important issue of our time with people flying planes into buildings shows you are a joke that I have already wasted to much time addressing.

if people flying planes into buildings (six and a half years ago) is the most important issue of our time, then why is the guy responsible for it still at large?

oil company-paid denials is not "proven fact" by the way.

anonymous--

Islamic Supremacists are an important issue. OBL is at large in part because he is in Pakistan. If a n00b President Hussein Obama invaded as he advocated and screwed it up, nukes would fall into hands of the Taliban. You understand the consequences of this, no?

Our priorities are keeping nbcs out of the hands of Islamist radicals, stopping Islamist radicals from overthrowing democracies when we can, and aiding friendly autocrats when we cannot. This should be common sense.

American,

Isn’t it interesting how some on the left, when hit between the eye, with obvious bias, will finally, begrudgingly, admit it? They’ll admit “all” news is biased and must be received with a grain of salt (duh!).

Then they’ll throw in the “talk radio” or “FOX news” argument.

First of all, FOX news is considered one of the most unbiased news outlets around. I’m talking the “news” segments. But many feel the need to define FOX by O’Reilly, and Hannity. Just like they love to point to Rush as being biased.

I’d like to point out that Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, and Saun Hannity, have all made it clear where their loyalties lie, what their beliefs and philosophies are.

I can’t think of one time, no, not once, where a “Main-Stream-Media” types on the left has admitted their bias. Have you ever seen a newscast where Couric, or Brokaw, or Jennings, etal has stated “I’m a Liberal/Socialist/Progressive, and damn proud of it”? Can you?

Of course not, it’s like the mere fact that the obvious is not verbalized, that many “accept” them as unbiased and refuse to admit the, … well, the obvious.

So….we’re “robots” if we agree with Rush or O’Reilly. No, I tend to disagree. We know what we believe, with Rush and O’Reilly we have hours filled with actual examples, in-depth thought and analysis, albeit from the right point of view, with constant challenges to the left, begging them to point out a factual error.

They’re not “telling” us what to think, but are reinforcing deeply held beliefs. That’s not to say we don’t explore other points of view as much as that would assuage your sense of self-worth – oh wouldn’t that just make you sleep better at night, if you could legitimately claim such utter ridiculousness.

The other side, on the other hand gives us sound bite platitudes while all the while claiming their neutrality.

Is it any wonder the conservatives are winning the “media wars”?

do you realize the sheer idiocy and naivete of your own statement, jason?

for, what makes you think the taliban, AND iran, AND syria, AND the indonesians don't already have ready access to such weaponry, and what makes you think they haven't for some time?

surely you realize that, if intentions were there to actually launch such an attack, we have afforded enough provocation so that this would have been DONE ALREADY??

how long, jason, do you continue to calamity-howl and overstate the one possible vulnerability you see to this nation's security, as completely implausible as it is, while ignoring EVERY SINGLE OTHER ONE?

Easy. There is no evidence indicating this the case.

There is a lot of evidence indicating Iran in particular is developing nukes. Iran already killing Jews and Americans as we speak via proxies like the Party of God (i.e. the Hezb'Allah). And as the Iran-Iraq war shows, the Iranian leadership has no problem with mass martyrdom as long as it is to the benefit of God Almighty.

I agree with you that al-Qaida is a threat. I know they were not in Iraq in a major way until after Saddam was removed. I agree that letting al-Qaida have Iraq as a base of operations is not in our security interests.

You guys tend to think OBL is some character made up, like the two-minutes hate, to mobilize the sheeple for war. Kill the wicked witch, and we can all celebrate. Unfortunately jihad is a horizontal, postmodern organization that can't be destroyed by killing people like Zarqawi or Mookie, though doing so certainly helps.

Game, you should have banned anonymous long ago. He just repeats the lies of the left and is too stupid to admit when Algore gets caught using a computer animation from the movie, "Day After Tommorrow" in his "award" winning "mockumentry" or any of the other lies he and Michael Moore spew.
