Bush on talking to terrorists

This is the talk that got Bush elected in 2000 and the talk America needed after 9-11....nice to hear him tell it like it is for once:

"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," the President said to the country's legislative body, "We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

Then Obama comes back and shows how he doesn't get it...
It is time to turn the page on eight years of policies that have strengthened Iran and failed to secure America or our ally Israel. Instead of tough talk and no action...
Wow...I think we have been "secure" since 9-11, and the ONE thing that will make Iran stronger and ensure a war against Israel is what Obama wants to do. America, Obama and the far, far, far, far Left have no clue at all on this (and many) positions. He makes it clear daily.

and here's mccain:

"I believe that it’s not an accident that our hostages came home from Iran when President Reagan was president of the United States. He didn’t sit down in a negotiation with the religious extremists in Iran, he made it very clear that those hostages were coming home."

except that the hostages came home 10 minutes after the end of the carter presidency because of negotiations by the carter administration which reagan had nothing to do with.

furthermore, it was the reagan administration that sold weapons to the "religious extremists in iran" to raise money for its illegal adventures in latin american.

mccain may be even more clueless than bush (and you guys).

Anon, you must write history books for use in the public school system, I thought I’d seen it all when it comes to the revision of history.

Are you going to sit there and actually make the case that the hostages would’ve been released if Carter had won a second term?

Here’s a suggestion, remove your finger from your ass before answering.

I don’t blame you, one little ol’ bit for posting anonymously!

and speaking of asses, you're going to claim that iran released the hostages because they were shittin' in their pants because a 20 mule team actor and 2-term california governor was coming to kick their asses?

and please provide any citation that factually refutes what i said.

and i could give a shit why you suppose i post anonymously, blamin'.

Wow!!?? I think we have NOT been secure since 9-11!!
I think a couple of colleges got shot up. A bus stop, a couple of malls,a few churches. I think Americans have been attacked on a daily basis Mr. Support The Troops. What separates these attacks and deaths from terrorists? Oh, not on our soil? So they are cannon fodder. I get it.
The one thing that made Iran stronger was our invasion of Iraq. I guess when everybody is a terrorist and out to get you then you have no choice but to kill everybody.

What is clearer everyday is that we are not even discussing the same thing. That is why you can't figure it out.

Ron--

How is Iran stronger? Do you admit like Puff Daschle that they made progress with their nukes? (Nuclear for peaceful energy use, of course. The Iranian talk about incinerating infidels and crazy end-of-times rants about the return of the Mahdi are just warmonger corporate lies to fool the sheeple.)

We haven't launched airstrikes against Iran yet because Americans fear losing dollars through higher gas prices more than their lives.

We ask, "why can we all just get along and talk about our differences?" This liberal principle (which I support) of live and let live is precisely what the rightwing dark age fanatics are contesting. Republicans and Democrats alike don't understand what we are dealing with.
