I saw my first great program in an MPS building today

There are times things happen that exude a bit of hope.
In 6 years in MPS, I have seen many, many "programs."
They usually involved booty shaking, simulated sex acts, people throwing money
into the crowd, people screaming, yelling and at times fighting.
That is not what happened today...

The Asian Club put on a program that presents the students with an idea of where they came from, Asian dress, dance, singing and history.
It ran smooth
The kids had everything under control at all times
There were quick transitions, costume changes
They even had "hosts" present the acts
They even had dialogue the kids wrote themselves

It's nice to see there are some kids who are responsible and able to produce something creative, tasteful and of a high quality.
And to top it off, the show did not start with the "Black national anthem" like another program this year....but with the Pledge of Allegiance...
I guess some people can honor and respect their own culture yet still respect and honor this country...
Well done kids

Glad to hear.
I certanily think it has something to do with parents. No matter how poor they are - typically Asian families (especially the first generation) tend to show a great deal of discipline and focus on education. Because, most of them came from poor countries with no access to quality life.
