Sen. Edward Kennedy has malignant brain tumor

Everyone should say a prayer for him and his family..
And I hope that conservative bloggers show more class than liberal bloggers do
toward conservatives in this type of situation.

UPDATE:
Here are you examples Jay:
Liberal Bloggers Rip Into Falwell After Death
Liberal Blogs Spew Hate on Jerry Falwell Death
Jerry Falwell struck dead; not yet found worthy of resurrection
God Angrily Awaiting Jerry Falwell's Arrival
More Left-wing Hypocrisy: Grave-dancing

that is from ONE conservative...we could do more, but you either get the point or are unable...

I remember Rosemary Kennedy getting
regular monthly visits from her only living brother Ted at her care
center in Jefferson. He never forgot his mentally challenged older sister..I wish him only best wishes as he faces the truly difficult fight for recovery...

An example, please, of us showing a lack of class? Just because you say it happened doesn't mean it did.

Comparing Sen. Kennedy's situation to the death of Jerry Falwell is apples and oranges. Falwell made it his career to demonize and personally attack those that didn't fit his "moral majority" image. I don't think Sen. Kennedy has ever uttered anything comparable to blaming homosexuals for 9/11. Instead, he has served the country tirelessly in his 40+ years in the Senate, advocating for the underprivileged and voiceless. Not to mention the fact that he has been the unifying force in a family that has seen more tragedy in a lifetime than most see in generations.

From Malkin's blog: "I just dont feel an ounce of sympathy for this man.

Even if I belived in something to pray to, I’m not sure i could muster the energy to do so. "

A little different tone there...not good, but not the hard core hate that liberals tend to have for conservatives

Is anyone surprised by Malkin's demogoguery? I'm certainly not.

chris ve - Teddy also ran from a submerged car he crashed, with a young girl in it who might have been saved had he tried. She had a name Mary Joe Kopechne, and parents who loved her.

He also voted for partial birth abortion so he doesn't care much for people who have yet to named and loved. So just how does he stand up for the underprivileged and voiceless?

Bigt,

I’m afraid Chris ve, is a one-issue man. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, he knows what’s important to him, so he’s willing to overlook all the other many, many failings of his champion.

bigt, you weren't there and neither was anybody else. he said he tried to get her out. there is no proof whatsoever that he didn't. none. did he err by not immediately going to the police. yep. but i'll bet not a day goes by that he doesn't think about Mary Jo and regret what happened. which by the way was an accident.

blamin, while I appreciate your efforts to speak on my behalf, I think i can manage that on my own. I am far from a one issue man, and Sen. Kennedy and his family have on numerous occasions stood up for seniors, the LGBT community, children and many other groups that don't have the voice of older, white males. He has, throughout his career, supported making a quality public education for all a priority. He has also been someone that has been willing to compromise with Repub's to get things done (see McCain-Kennedy and more).

Let’s see, he stood up for old people, children, and the lgmt “community”. Gosh, the last time I checked, all politicians claimed to stand up for seniors and children.

Now, if you want to look at his voting record, that statement becomes somewhat suspect. I’m talking actualities, not claims.

“Older, White, Males”, OK, your biases come shining through.

The mere mention of OWM may be enough to stifle debate within your very narrow (and shallow) clique, but I’m afraid amongst the informed we won’t quite be “a knocking at the knees”.

Compromise, in the mind of a liberal, is a conservative embracing a liberal agenda. It never works the other way -- observe what happened to Joe Lieberman.

"I don't think Sen. Kennedy has ever uttered anything comparable to blaming homosexuals for 9/11."

I'd say that his remarks concerning Abu Graib qualifies. To equate George Bush with Sadam Hussein is pretty reprehensible. And for Falwell to imagine that God might be lifting his protection because of decadence in this country, there's Biblical precedent for the possibility. I'm sure had anyone cared to ask Jerry, he'd say that people were free to believe what they want on the subject.

blamin, stop projecting on me regarding my opinions or ideologies. you make incredibly ambiguous claims about me without having any evidence to back them up. i'm a one issue guy? how on earth can you deduce that from one blog post?

and you want evidence of the kennedy's standing up for political minorities? how about making the civil rights movement serious at the federal level by pushing the civil rights act of 1963? how about their long history of involvement in the special olympics and advocacy for the mentally and physically disabled? the fact is, the kennedy's have, for decades, been a family of service to their communities, their states, and the nation.

Chris VE said...

and besides, you have yet to refute my point that sen. kennedy has been a champion of the public schools and someone who has been open to working with repub's to pass legislation.

It's interesting to read the comments from conservative readers and their "class" here! smiles...

As to Michelle Malkin or Michael Savage - It doesn't really surprise me. They are just feeding to their audience, who are hungry for the same stuff.

Chris VE said...

More blanket straw man claims with no evidence to support your arguments...

You need some new material blamin.

‘ve, “…a champion of the public schools…”

I’d have to say that Kennedy, and other entrenched Democrat leaders, were/are as successful in improving public schools as they are in their war on poverty. The fact that you’d hold that up as some kind of accomplishment speaks volumes.

As far as his working with “repub’s”, I think you mean “working with rino’s”.

‘Ve, seriously, you have to admit, or at least ask yourself, “why are our school systems, the war on poverty, and the health of our society in general, such abject failures, when the elitist liberal leadership (ELL) has guided the policies in these areas for so long?

You have to conclude they (the ELL’s) are dismally incompetent, or, they are actually achieving the goals they wish to achieve. The ELL’s I’ve met are fairly intelligent people so my conclusion is the latter.

Chris ve,

I ask you to research John Dewey, before dismissing my “assertions”.

Sure, the consequences of his misguided principals are beyond his grasp, “way” worse than he could have imagined, but so goes most consequences of liberal/socialist ideas.
